Windows10

Post by Paul C »

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I understand that a free version of Windows 10 is to be released in a few days time to everyone that has Windows 7 and above, as long as you have a compatible computer.

Just wondered if anyone was going to give it a try. I,m sure Cumulus will work without a problem :D Is it worth the upgrade or stick with what you have.

thanks

I've reserved the update to win10 have skipped 8.1 but it's time for a new OS I think Win10 is a good compromise and had it rin for a while in a virtual enviroment.

I have 3 computers that have Windows 8.1 and 1 computer with Windows 7.

All of them are set to update to Windows 10.

I personally would wait. You have until June 2016 to install the update and as it is an "in place" update i.e. it replaces W7 or W8.1 and is not a separate partition install, I would wait and let others "iron" the bugs out!!

Yes, that is correct but that is typical Microsoft as that it is a little late if it has already messed up your previous install!!

Has anyone taken the plunge to Windows 10 yet? I got the notification that my upgrade was ready, but I'm gonna hold off until I know Cumulus will work as it should.

I've been using it for about three months. I've had no issues with either Cumulus 1 or Cumulus MX.

Good luck oh and I thought nothing works after the update , be sure you go to the store and get updates from apps you have, all installs of software will be kept well at least the compatible, I could run cumulus without reinstall , later on I will do a complete fresh install.

I'm guessing the roll out via Windows Update will be spread over at least a few weeks to prevent Microsoft servers being too busy
