I too would love to see support for WMR100/WMR200's.

I have been playing with Cumulus (using WUHU to generate a CSV file in sudo Easyweather format which somehow Cumulus can understand), and I like the look and feel of the main screen, and most of the data is there it seems.

So much so that based a weather web page on the Cumulus console using the Cumulus tags. Pitty that the Easyweather file can only be read every minute, real time would be nice. But for that I guess I will just have to wait for native WMR100 support.

If you need ALPHA/BETA testers keep me in mind.

Regards

Is the WUHU -> Easyweather CSV format a standard feature of WUHU or something you have put together?

Nice.

I just have a bit more work to do on 1.9.1, then I'll be starting on the WMR100/200 support.

Mark,

I created an export template in WUHU to simulate as many of the Easyweather fields as I could, which is then saved as an easyweather dat file, which is read by Cumulus.

Dave

To make Cumulus read realtime change in easyweather.dat would be an awesome thing.

Code: Select all

if easyw.dat new_timestamp newer than old_timestamp then import newdata else do nothing
:bash:

That would make Cumulus universal weather software, i guess

I've moved the discussion of the easyweather.dat file to its own thread.

I have stopped adding new facilities to 1.9.1 now, I just need to get as many bugs as possible out, then I will start on 1.9.2 with the WMR88/100/200 support.

I have just started work on this. I now see that the WMR100 does not in fact have the same protocol as the WMR200, which is a bit annoying. They're quite similar though. And the way the logger works on the WMR200 is quite different from the way the logger works on other stations which Cumulus supports, and doesn't really fit very well with the way Cumulus works...

Oh, that is bad news Steve. Do you plan to implement anything then?

Yes, I'll just have to make it fit as best I can. It's just another challenge!

Great news about starting development Steve, hopefully it won't prove to be too much of a challenge. Ready to start testing when you are happy with your development :D

I've decided it's too much hassle to try to do it without having access to a station myself, so I've ordered a WMR200 from Oregon UK.

Wow Steve, that is above and beyond! £300 to test

Still I'd be interested in hearing your views on this station once you have it set up.

Oh, and I see OS also do a budget WMR88 that also has USB-PC support :?
