Hi all,
I have just got my weather station and hope to get it up and running in the next few days.
So far I have installed the Cumulus software and also got it on a page on my website.
I have a few basic questions:

After the software install I need to set a few things like the units i want to use
for wind speed ETC and noticed it says something about take care as if you change at a
later date it will screw readings up! I understand why this is so my question is what
units are best to use for the readings ?

I am sure I will be back with more questions

It's really down to personal preference. In the UK, we should really be using hPa/mb for pressure, mm for rain, deg C for temperature, and knots for wind. I feel more comfortable with mph for wind, so that's what I use.

I'm with Steve on this...

It really is personal preference.

For me it's also
Pressure : hPa/mb
Rain : mm
Temperature :oC
Wind : MPH

But as Steve says it is all personal preference, what is more relevant to you? Use that and stick with it.

And because I'm an old (ish) git I use temps in C, pressure in hPa (millibars), wind speed in mph and rainfall in inches.

It would be useful if there was a way of toggling the Steel Series gauges to show readings in imperial / metric. I appreciate it would be difficult in Cumulus displays. We appear to have more American users these days so they might find that useful.

Thanks Mark. I suppose that shows how popular they are. My neighbour often visits my webpage and he is particularly impressed with those gauges so pat yourself on the back! No rest for the wicked eh? ;)

Am I the only one who like cold temperatures in oC and high temperatures in oF?

Many thanks for all the comments.
Well I have spent the last few hours getting all the software working
and doing some changes to the HTML

Here is my go so far http://www.g0hwc.com/weather/index.htm

I guess i have something not quite right with the gauges ???

The bar at the top says downloading Then all gauges are updated
but the downloading text changes to "Not Available"

What have i missed that is causing this ?

Paul

See your index page - "Forecast: Not available"

I assume your station does not provide a forecast (datawise), so you need to tick the checkbox for Cumulus forecast.
