how to set channel for extra humidity sensor (like WMR968TempChannel parameter) for use in main dashboard??

Setting WMR928TempChannel causes the main temperature and humidity to use the specified channel.

"extra sensor" page display correct data from external sensor set to channel=1 (temp and humid)
"now" page display only internal humid, external "0"

Does your extra sensor read both temperature and humidity from the same sensor?
Please show the WMR928TempChannel line from the [Station] section of your Cumulus.ini. Also, turn on debug logging for a few minutes (delete any exiting debug.log file first) and then zip up and attach the debug.log file to a reply here.

But you're using Cumulus MX! Why didn't you post in the Cumulus MX section, or even mention that you're using Cumulus MX? I'll have a look at the diags file and the code, it may just be a simple bug, now that I know which code I'm supposed be looking at!
