Steve,

I know your thinking of adding the Oregon Scientific WMR100 and WMR200 weather stations to your list, I stumbled across some handy information I would like to share with you.

I know this website is dedicated to MAC but I suppose its all about understanding the data sent from the device, I hope this helps - plus I'm keen to get me WMR200 hooked up to Cumulus ;) .

There is this program that accesses the WMR100 & 200...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/wmrx00/

Note sure of the licensing status on that work though...

Forget that - I took the time to search the forum and I see all this has come up before.

No problem. People have been helpful posting links to info, but quite often the same info has already been posted (or I already knew about it). If you're considering the 100, bear in mind it has no data logger, hence 24/7 running will be required.

Yes, lack of a data logger is a shortcoming, but I already run a server 24x7 anyway, what would be really useful is if people would start to offer IP connectivity to all these devices (and I'm including loads of astronomy gear too) instead of or in addition to USB. TCP/IP interfaces cost next to nothing to add to a design nowadays and are so much much flexible in terms of placement (access over the internet anyone?) - and ease of 3rd party connectivity.

Indeed, and of course Davis do already offer this as an option.

Your best bet is to follow the progress (or otherwise) of Cumulus 2 in the Cumulus 2 part of the forum, then you won't need to ask for progress reports ;)

I hope this could help a little for easier wmrx00 station support

Thanks, that looks interesting.

I can't decide whether I need to buy one of these stations, to support them properly. It's certainly been easier with the Fine Offset stations, now that I actually own one. WMR200 is a bit more expensive, though. I could get one without a logger, but it seems that logger download is the tricky part.
