There is obviously a problem somewhere down the line, as my Console is not showing the indoor temp this morning, nor is it showing the outdoor temp. The transmitter on the outdoor temp is flashing, but that's all. When I first received the package, the outdoor temp was showing on the console.

Another point worthy of mention is that the console, when tapped this morning, does not light up, and the touch screen does not work, or only works intermittently. I shall try to reboot the screen.

Console rebooted. Now all the temps are showing, but I can't alter anything as the touch screen does not work.

I think that the touch screen console is stuffed, as despite rebooting a dozen times, I cannot set anything, and it bleeps constantly. The bleep coincides with the sea level display under Baro switching on and off. Yesterday was the only time I have been able to set the units, time, date etc without a problem. I shall see whether I can get it fixed, or get a new one, then I shall try again. Thanks for your help so far.

I can report that the My Weather screen on my PC would appear to be reading correctly.

Regards,

Mike

If Cumulus is displaying the data but the console is not, that does sound like a broken screen on the console, as it must be receiving the data OK to be able to pass it on to Cumulus.

Before trashing the console check that you have proper "mains" current (ie, is the transformer working and plugged into the wall and the unit properly)

After this check try a console reset ( use a piece of wire - paper clip or tooth pick works) and press the reset switch through the small hole located under inside the battery box.

Let me know if this works - I may have another check to try.

Hi Steve and GW, thanks for your suggestions and comments.

The touch screen is displaying most data, but I cannot activate the "touch mechanism". Tapping it sometimes turns the light on, and sometimes doesn't. Whatever, for the past 2 days, I cannot, for example, set the day/date/time display, nor can I change the units, they are set at deg F by default, and will not change. Last Saturday, I was able to change units and times. dates etc, but not now.

I have checked the mains voltage, which reads 11.86v DC. I have also reset the display a dozen times or more, hoping to get it to come to life. As Steve says, Cumulus is getting the data via the serial port, so the console is transmitting, but just not working in touch mode.

If you have another suggestion GW, I'm more than happy to give a try. Oregon Australia have been informed about the malfunction, but I've had no response as yet.

Regards,

Mike

At the risk of boring the socks off you good people, after another 5 or 6 re-sets and juggling around, I have managed to get the touch screen responding, and have been able to set the time, date, and all the units as I want them. How long this will last, I have no way of telling at the moment, but I shall be in touch if I need any further input.

Many thanks,

Mike

Glad you have your console responding.

I did experience a non responding console touch screen twice. Each time after resets and power checks I disassemble the unit and then reassembled it which corrected the problem each time. I suspect a loose or dirty connection. It has now been operating over twelve months since the last episode.
You mentioned erratic beeping - has that stopped as well. After the first six month my 968 console started to beep from time to time - some times a single, sometimes two or more quick beeps. It drove me nuts until I opened the console and clipped a speaker wire. The console has been operating flawlessly ever since and I don't miss the beep feature. I posted several appeals for help here and to the manufacturer as well without a solution. There was some speculation the beeps were generated by interfering signals particularly as my console was a US model operating in the EU - perhaps due to data receiver frequencies. I doubted that as it operated for over eight months without random beeping and then once the erratic behavior began it was completely random but almost every day.
