Got my station yesterday.

Went for a WMR-200 in the end after much umming.

Have had a play with it last nigth and set it up, just need to do it properly now it's light (Couldn't wait last night)
Also got the UV Sensors but not sure if they are doing much at all, thought they would have shown something today, but have read elsewhere they read low, so maybe it needs to be brilliant light, as mine are still shoing a reading of 0.

Just want it to rain now to see if the rain gauge works ok, after testing yesterday and then resetting to wipe my erroneous data out.

They seem like quite nice stations. The software interface is a little odd and at times frustrating; unlike all other stations that I'm familiar with, they only write data to the logger if no software is currently reading the data, which in some respects is a reasonable approach, but it means that you can't 'rewind' and download old data like you can with other stations. Cumulus has no control over what archive records to download when it starts up, it just has to take what it's given; sometimes the station sends some really old data that Cumulus has already seen.

I don't know how accurate they are as I haven't put the sensors outside (and I don't have the UV sensor).

And if I see all the problems other stations have, it looks like the WMR200 and Cumulus is a good marriage.
Let’s see if they make 25 years of happiness. :D

Would have liked the Davis, but I just can't afford that sort of money at the moment.

But so far I'm happy with it, just had to move the sensors round a bit to get the best out of them.

Have now moved them again (in the dark) to a different location, and getting better wind speeds.
Maybe if I do it during the day I might get somewhere half decent!

Just wish the cable was a bit longer for the Wind Sensor to solar pannel so I could mount that higher.
But I guess I can play with that another day and get another solar pannel?

Welcome to the forum :)

Pleased to hear that all is going well with your station, I have the WMR88 operating alongside my La-Crosse WS2300 and am very pleased with how close they are in terms of accuracy and performance.

Where abouts in Essex are you located?

Chelmsford,

Still having fun at the moment, and seeing what else I can do.
Will have to look at setting up a website or something now maybe.

Just a quick question on the OS Software, the Outside Temperature and Inside seem to be mixed up to me, I would have though the current conditions on that software would show as the Outside sensors, not what the inside temp is.

Ah Chelmsford :) I pass through there quite a bit, mainly on my way to see friends in nearby Southend On Sea 8-)

Yeah, I had the same issue with the OS Software, though to me everything seems backwards if its not Cumulus

Well I got my wish of rain yesterday....

So that's all working.
Now would just like lots of sun to see if the UV does anything.

And have another play about moving the other bit.
Will be making a donation soon, as it will soon be pay day!

Out of all the software I've tried Cumulus seems the best for my needs.
So thanks for all the work that's gone into it.

Got my website up and running now, using some of the templates from here and the Weather Blues Template.

Played around a lot to get some of the realtime stuff working, but I think I'm halfway there now.

Before I got my station I downloaded the software, and was playing around with it, because of this my <#recordsbegandate> was incorrect. Found out in the end I needed to edit the StartDate line in the cumulas.ini file whilst I wasn't running cumulas and all now seems to be ok. :D

Has anyone using he WRM200 located the wind sensor on a higher pole than supplied (I'm assuming that lots have?). Whilst the supplied pole ad mounts are probably ok in an exposed location, my garden cannot be described as that at all.

What sort of poles, masts, mounts etc are recommended, and do they all need guy wires, or are there other options?

Have thought about doing a roofline install using some T and K brackets, but Im not going to be able to do a chimney mount install.

Other option could be for a larger pole at the rear of the garden, but I think it would need to be quiet sizeable to get higher than the trees that are in the distance.
