Pressure issue on CWOP

i have put in and out the altitude of my station (WMR88) but it has no effect on the pressure reported to cwop, my on screen reading goes up and down and the website pressure but not what is reported on cwop i tried all the tweaks and even the ini file though it doesn';t appear as applying to my problem i didn't see anything else in the faq...
my cwop id is KF4CQ and the web site is www.qsl.net/kf4cq/wx...
i did update to build 1029 with no effect either...

But you're getting a green tick for your pressure at CWOP?

Thats true, it has a green check but a thumbs down from Madis i would like to get it closer than reported by QC...
Average barometer error: 1.1 milliBars
Error standard deviation: 1.2 milliBars
Worst daily average barometer error: 2.5 milliBars

The WMR88 has a stated accuracy of +/- 10 mb, so you're doing quite well there. You seem to be expecting better accuracy from your station than it's capable of. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to tell me; some figures might help. What pressure is displayed on the console, in Cumulus, what's uploaded to CWOP, what you think the pressure should be, etc. Have you put your correct altitude into both the station and Cumulus?

its true the tweaks im doing fall outside the stated accuracy of the insterment...
however i am at only 97 feet here if i was much higher this might be a larger issue... what im seeing is as i imput height into the wmr88 it's display changes so i add the 95 feet (30 m) and the displaed and the local info on the clumulas software changes as well what is being shown on the web site closer to the correct reading but what is being sent to CWOP is not changing i have added 20 mters and the number on my web site gets even closer to the correct reading as well as on the wmr88 and local display but still no change at cwop so it is not using the altitude to correct what is sent to cwop... when i was using wuhu software i was able to tweek it and had a very close pressure with cwop QC...

Are you putting your altitude into Cumulus? For the WMR88, Cumulus calculates the altimeter pressure for CWOP by reading the station pressure (i.e. the local pressure without any correction for sea-level) and then adjusts it using the MADIS formula based on the altitude that you've configured in Cumulus. If that isn't working, and you have put your altitude into Cumulus, then either the station isn't supplying the station pressure correctly, or Cumulus isn't reading it correctly.

Bingo now were getting somewhere !!!
i have an altitude of 97 feet on the setup screen same area as the Lat and Lon...
is there somewhere else i need to put it...
also it has no effict on cwop reported pressure no matter what i put there...
also the add - subtract value has no effect on cwop but does have on the web site and the local display...

I'll try to do some experimenting with my WMR200, which should produce the same result, and see what happens. Remind me in a few days if I haven't replied.

I've tried this with my WMR200 and it's working fine. If I put an altitude of zero feet in Cumulus, it was sending 1038.5 hPa to CWOP. I then changed my altitude to 97 feet, and (once it had re-read the pressure from the station) it started sending 1042.1 hPa to CWOP. So I have no idea why changing the altitude in Cumulus has no effect for you, the code is the saem other than reading the station pressure figure from the station.

Please do the following: Set your altitude to zero in Cumulus. Turn on the debug log. Wait until 3 CWOP updates have taken place and then change your altitude in Cumulus again to 97 feet. Wait for 3 more CWOP updates and then zip up the debug.log file and attach it here.

Well sure enough your right now i see what controls that the misleading part was number one the help file advises that number has no effect on anything except what is shown on the web files for altitude, 2nd was the fact the raw wx data from cwop sorts the file from top to bottom i thought it was the other way, after you make a change it usally takes 1 or 2 cycles before it showes up...

and here is the file also but looks like all is working as it should ill just imput like 120 feet instead of 97 should make it right would be nice if there was somewhere to put that it wouldn't give a wrong altitude on the web pages but i could just change the code on the web page to get around that....

Ah, yes; until I added the WMR station support, that was true, but then I needed to use the altitude for WMR stations for the pressure for CWOP. I'll fix the help, thanks.
