NOAA Report Daily Min Temp reporting as zero most days

Postby glennpm » Sat Sep 16, 2017 12:22 pm

Hi,

Recently my Cumulus NOAA low temperature is reporting as "0". It is occurring a short time after I do a daily reboot of my router, around 2:15AM. Is there a fix or configuration change I can make to fix this? I could find none. Right now I'm dong a manual daily edit to the "dayfile.txt" file.

Yesterday for example:

Mean
Day Temp High Time Low Time
15 67.9 74.4 13:48 0.0 02:38

Thanks

do you show any errors in mxdiag files?
Also check Sep17log.txt for any errors if this is the only month causing issues
depending on your OS, like windows use notepad plus (i believe thats the one) regular notepad or wordpad will not correctly read and right that file

You can also post those files here if you have questions

Hi Jim,

I've attached the last two dig files. I don't see an error. I have no problem editing the dayfile. I use Ultraedit.

Thanks,
Glenn

There's a problem with the downloading of archive entries from your station. When Cumulus asks for the entries since it last ran, the station says there aren't any. So Cumulus has incomplete data for each day and hence the daily minima and maxima are wrong. It looks like your logger has stopped logging.

Thanks Steve. I reboot it and see what happens in the morning.

You also need to make sure that you have the station logger set to the same interval that you have Cumulus set to.
