Heat Index Not Matching

Postby kf7yqc » Tue Sep 26, 2017 2:38 am

On my Davis Vantage Vue Here are the readings which match what is displayed on the console using the weatherlink software

Current Conditions
Outside Temperature: 74.9°
Outside humidity: 85%
Outside dew point: 70.1°
Wind speed: 0.0 SW
Wind chill: 74.9°
Outside heat index: 77.8°
Barometer: 29.893in and Rising Slowly
Daily rain: 0.00in
Current Rain rate: 0.00in

The problem I am having is with Cumulus, the readings are not matching for the heat index at all... is there a way to calibrate this or...?

Temperature and Humidity
Temperature 74.9 °F Dew Point 70.1 °F
Windchill 74.9 °F Humidity 85%
Heat Index 74.9 °F Apparent Temperature 82.6 °F

Any help would be great Thx

Cumulus doesn't calculate heat index below 80F as this is correct for the formula it uses. See the wiki entry for heat index.
