beaufort?

Post by n9mfk »

Hi Steve what wind vale is used for <#beaufort>
<#wlatest> is the 'Latest' box on the Cumulus main window, this is the latest 3-second speed read from the VP2.

<#wgust> is the 'Gust' box on the Cumulus main window, this is the max value of the above over the last 10 minutes.

<#wspeed> is the 'Average' box on the Cumulus main window, this is the 10-minute average wind speed.

Beaufort values are always calculated from average wind speeds.

Cumulus converts the speed to m/s and then uses a lookup table based on that. F0 is 'less than 0.3 m/s', so that comes out at 'less than 0.7 mph' or so.
