Hi Steve!

I posted about this elsewhere, but it soon got buried. Anyway, I just installed the latest C2, and started it up. I entered my comport number and station type (WM918), and then I imported my data as prompted. It all seemed good, except that C2 is not reading or updating my stations data. You did warn that it might not work on OS Stations ! ;) FWIW: The first C2 version was worse...I could not start it at all. At least I could start and import this time. :)

I've configured the COM port slightly differently in this version (I've set hardware handshaking), which may be the problem. I will try changing it for the next build.

I am getting the same results - WMR-928 - the second version appears to install and import correctly - but no data appears and I receive an "unexpected error" when accessing the data tabs. Current data displays all zeros.

This is a Windows Home Server install with install located in the Programs folder. You have had experience with this OS - are there any special installation requirements. Do I need to do a "Registry" search to clean out any old entries from previous (first version) of Cumulus 2.

I'm sorry, I think I screwed up. Looking at the code, I don't seem to have done the change I thought I'd done. Or, more likely I undid the change accidentally. I'll try again for the next build, which hopefully won't be too far away.

Looking forward to Alpha 3 - whenever you have the time!

I think the best thing is if I do a "private" test build or two so we can see if we can get it working with the Oregons. I'll be in touch.

Just installed today's latest C2 version, 2.0.3549.38449 , and still no luck. I'm fairly certain it is not my COM port setting, because I can open C1 and it finds the same COM port immediately. There is no bug report, and the import and trace logs shows no errors.

Ah - that's a bit disappointing, as the latest build seems to be working OK with wireless versions. I use the same settings for wired and wireless in C1, and I'm doing the same in C2. The settings I'm using are 9600 bps, 8-N-1, handshaking off, RTS and DTR enabled.

I suppose it's possible that it is actually receiving data, but I've screwed up the analysis of the data. Like the checksum calculation or something. If I can't find anything wrong, I'll put some more logging in the next build.

Thanks for looking into it. I've rechecked my settings, but nothing stands out. As you said, maybe some kind of error log would help. Thanks again! :)

Very good work Steve, getting C2 to work with my WM-918 (WX-200). I installed the latest V. 2.0.3556.32146, and only 3 issues remain that I can see. Dew Point, Heat Index, and Humidex, are all reading 0 °C. I don't see any errors reported in trace.txt.

I can't see anything wrong with the code that extracts the dew point, it does exactly the same as version 1 - but has no option to calculate the dew point like version 1 does, so you can only have the value the station calculates. Your temperature is quite low, is it possible that your dew point is actually zero - or even below zero, which I think the OS stations can't handle, and report zero? What's your RH?

For the other two, I've forgotten to add the code to calculate them for OS stations! I'll fix that.

Ah...I see now. Yes my console is reading a DP of 0 °C right now, @ T 2.7 °C and RH of 67%. It is supposed to reach around T 20+ °C tomorrow, so I'll note the DP, RH, and Temp. when it is warmer and get back to you.....Thanks!

Now that it is warmer out, C2 is now reporting the correct Dew point, so you were correct about that issue...actually being a non-issue (see enclosed screenshot). So Heat index and Humidex are the only 2 issues remaining.

TIA!
