Hi Steve,

So far works great with LaCrosse. I am having a small problem with the importing of history. Seems that the furthest I can get with the importing of history is yesterday. It tells me it can't find the .ini and gives me a choice of only yesterday or today. I have read were some people have downloaded a years worth I am not sure of course I might have read incorrectly. I may not know what I am doing  . Also, it seem now it doesn't do this all of the times but when you load up C2 everything starts fine all current data starts up till it gets to the graphs on the side they will remain blank and then C2 will go non responsive. This doesn't happen all of time I say out of 5 it will do this 2 times.

Thank you,
Bob

The cumulus.ini file is the one with all the program settings in, and is in the Cumulus installation folder. It sounds like you're looking in the data folder, you need to be one level up.

That's interesting, I did experience this problem myself, but don't now. I think it's something to do with whether or not there is any history data to download or not, and I may have fixed it for the stations I have, and I need to do the same for La Crosse. If I can remember what I changed! I'll have a look, and maybe you could do some experimenting to see if you can confirm this - try leaving it not running until you know there will be some history, then start up and see if you get the problem. The stop and start again straight away so there is no history, and see if that cause it.

That fixed it! . History is also in that seemed to be the trick. Very very nice work a lot to be proud of.

Hello again,

After playing around with C2 for a bit a lot of turning on and off comparing with C1 I have noticed the C2 will go non responsive when it tries to load the graphs into the smaller windows. Now if this occurs the main graphs page when you start pushing the differant options like peak rain, wind, and like wise that will cause C2 to go non responsive. Tried an experiment were I imported again and that temporarily fixed it until you restarted C2 a couple of times and then C2 will have issues again. It seems to me and I am by no means an expert here. Seems that there is a problem with the database. Is there a way to clear or wipe out the data base I have in there right now so that I can import a fresh one? Not sure if maybe happened during the import to cause the problem.

Bob

Wanted to leave a quick note. There seems to be an issue with rain data this might be causing it not sure how these databases work. On main page of C2 the year rain total is 220 inches (incorrect compared to C1). Now if you flip to the small grid on the right the rain is different than the main page with rain for the month for example. Main C2 will say .52 inches for the month where the smaller field to the right will say 1.02 for the same month.

The easiest way to start afresh is to copy the blank database file (cumulus.s3db) from the zip. The first line of the trace.txt file on your desktop will show where it needs to go.

When it starts to go unresponsive, have a look at task manager and see how much memory it's using. It may be a leak.

Ok just my luck so far C2 has not gone unresponsive the task manager seems fine uses at the most 51 cpu resources then goes to 0. Now I did discover something with the 10 start up and exits of C2. When you exit C2 now the first couple of times I didn't see it or could have been that I wasn't paying attention but there is an unexpected error that shows up with a chirp associated with it. It does produce an error code string but the error only stays on the screen for a sec then clears off of the screen. No way does it stay up long enough that i might be able to capture a screen shot.

The main window shows the total for the month, while the smaller panel shows the highest rate and the highest hourly total during the month.

(I've just noticed that the units for today's high rate should be a rate - mm/hr or in/hr, rather than mm or in.)

Another observation. Today I was lucky and we got some rain this morning ok there seems to be a problem with rain and the database. We got .30 of rain last night and the rain on C2 doesn't register it. It still have the same measurements that I have posted above. So it seems like C2 is having an issue with rain on my end.

Ok it finally did the non responsive. I am looking at the task manager right now and this is what I see Cumulus.exe , owner, CPU flickers between 50 and 49, with mem usage of 80,600 K.

Actually, it seems I can reproduce that quite easily. I'll investigate - thanks.

Edit: As it happens, the external sensors on my test station (the Fine Offset) have lost contact, so I'm getting bad data (minus infinity for dew point) and selecting the temperature graph causes it to hang up. I suspect bad data is causing the problem in your case, possibly because of bugs in my code whuch reads the data from the station.
