You trying for the national record Barry? Bahahaha. What a stinker. What was the AT?

On a side note to everyone (with other posts)......this thread was for those that can beat the records at the front (12 mm in an hour won't cut it). Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in months/years? I recommend Barry to take over. If you don't want to Barry, then I'll happily do it.

I had an 11.08 per hour rain rate..can't beat yours.

However, in that same storm. I had 2.06" of rain in an hour. And actually, that came down in just 45 minutes. True 'frog choker'.

I'm hopeful that my pressure record will be broken tonight. The center of storm Angus looks to track right over my location, the FAX chart showing a possible 966mb.

Congratulations,
Not that it is actualy good having low pressure, but glad you have a new record.
My lowest is : 916.1 2013-09-12 :
At the time I questioned my hardware though found it to be true at the time. here is an exert from the BoM summary from 2013 :
Repeated heavy rain and flooding
Heavy rain and flooding affected various parts of Tasmania throughout the year, especially when low pressure systems or cold fronts crossed the state between July and November. A cold front that crossed on 4 July saw totals over 50 mm in the north, then a low and trough generated heavy rain across the northwest on the 14th. Another system brought heavy falls to elevated areas on 18 July, and a low caused persistent heavy rain in the southeast on the 21st and 22nd.

The pattern continued into August, with notable heavy falls on the 5th, 13th and 18th that brought flash and riverine flooding, especially to the north. More wet days followed in September, especially from the 9th to the 11th and again from the 17th to the 19th. Gray (Haven of Hope) recorded 119 mm in the 24 hours to 9 am on the 18th, and the South Esk and North Esk rivers flooded once more. October was yet another wet month, especially in the west, then in November there was local heavy rain and flooding three times as low pressure systems passed close to the state: Gray recorded 258 mm in the 24 hours to 9 am on 13 November.
(Though here in Tasmania they do not equate to Tropical Low Pressure "Cyclones") as they did when I lived in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia (Dampier/Karratha) for 22 odd years (plagued by cyclones).
The worst we had Officially recorded there was :
Cyclone Orson in 1989 23 April
250 km/h (155 mph) Though our Radar on East Intercourse Island at the time was smashed to pieces and the last local recordings we had where 360 km/h.
925 hPa (27.31 inHg)
Local Category (5)
$25 million in Damages.
Orson made landfall near Dampier as a strong category five however damage was minimal due to the storms fast speed and small wind field and the fact our buildings where built to Cat5 standards. Severe damage was however reported on an offshore drilling rig and five people drowned after their boat capsized in rough seas. Before landfall, Orson was the fourth most intense cyclone ever recorded in Australian waters.

Hope you do not get many more low pressure events in the future.

Location UleyBury South Australia - Adelaide.

I've been running cumulus since April 2011 but much heavier use since 2014 and running on two computers with one connected to the VP2Plus and WH1081.

My most impressive rain rate was recorded on 12/12/12 in the mid afternoon at 3:25PM as a very intense microburst thunderstorm dumped its load right over the top. I just got home from school and saw it brewing just to the NW and heading straight towards me. Peak Rain Rate of 314.4mm/hr (12.26") was recorded, and 14.4mm in the short 8 minute deluge. Wind gusted to 95km/h under it. Everything was awash, local flooding reports just down the road and flooded an intersection on one of the major roads.

Other Records include:

Max Wind Gust 106km/h (66mph)
High Temp 45.0C (113.0F) January 2013

Rain:
High Monthly Total: September 2016 184.4mm
High 24 hour: 83.0mm February 14 2014, 100.8mm total between 1PM 13th and 4PM 14th

Pressure:
Highest: 1039.5 June 2015
Lowest: 979.3 29 September 2016

I have experienced wind gusts to 130km/h in July as well as snow and pure hail, no rain, just hail. Wind Chill was down to -12C at the time, these are approximate measurements but it did feel like that 130, sheltered behind a building to avoid being blown over. Mind you that was at 630m ASL in a fully exposed area. Hoping we get another system similar and will take my Vantage Vue with me.

Yesterday was a "dull" day, but it produced two new all-time records.

First, an new "dullest day" record, with a highest light intensity of only 26 W/m2.

All that heavy cloud and no wind (the wind run was 1 mile) meant stable temperatures, resulting in a new record smallest temperature range of just 0.9 °C.

Kind of similar here Mark. Yesterday High 2.4° and low 0.0° and today so far high 1.4° and low 0.2°. Having 3 days without frost in January may be a record... and also a third day without sunshine.

A new record for me, yesterday. Lowest max temperature of 2.8°C - that's pretty low for my tropical part of England.

After a couple of days of some hot weather yours now looks like much more comfortable temperature, likely due to the rain.

No records for us, but for this time of year quite nice, and no precipitation. And this morning our community has Breakfast With Santa for the kids and he will not be arriving on is sleigh.

Enjoy,
Paul
