Hi,
while on Cumulus 1.9.x I recognized that when the connection between the inside Display and my computer was interupted and later reconnected
then after a restart Cumulus read the stored values out of the display.
Now I'm running Cumulus MX and had it several times that the data was not actual. So I restarted Cumulus MX and reconnected the Display but it seems
that the stored data is not read from the display. If I view the data files via datalogs.html I see always the same value. Also in the graphs there is just a line with the same value.
Can I set an option which activates this?
thanks Andy

Re: Read archieved data
It does it by default, just as Cumulus 1 does. And just as with Cumulus 1, if there is some problem with reading new data from the console, it logs the last good data that it received. So if you restart it, as far as Cumulus is concerned, it is up to date and does not need to read any archived data from the station.
You need to make sure that (a) you are not allowing the PC to sleep while Cumulus is running and (b) you have turned off all USB power saving options. If both of these are already true, zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it to a reply in this thread, and I'll take a look.

Hi steve,
thanks for you answer. Please ignore the realtime errors. I was just testing something.

I can't see any problems with reading data in that single file that you have chosen to attach. If you would like to provide the information that I asked for, I'll have a look later - I'm going out now.

Re: Read archieved data
I disabled already all powersaving options and also standby.
In CumulusMX there was "Last station Update" red and about half an hour old.
If I look in that Log File every 1 minute it says
2017-03-07 09:36:00.484 Writing log entry for 07.03.2017 09:36:00
2017-03-07 09:36:00.499 Written log entry for 07.03.2017 09:36:00
2017-03-07 09:36:00.500 Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 07.03.2017 09:36:00 raindaystart = 5,1 rain counter = 7,5

The error occured this morning at 9:36.
But in the Interface the data was not updated.
Also in the graphs and datalogs there is a line or always the same value.
Attached the wished files.

Re: Read archieved data
2017-03-07 09:41:00.312 *** Data input appears to have stopped
From this point, for some reason Cumulus is unable to read data from your station, so it just reuses the last data that it read. Cumulus 1 does exactly the same thing by default.
Perhaps you are using an option setting in Cumulus 1 which you have omitted to mention - e.g. 'restart if data stops'. This would cause Cumulus to restart, and if it was still unable to read data when it started, it would not start logging data. Cumulus MX does not have this setting; it may have one day if I can work out how to do it using .Net/Mono - reliably and across all platforms.
