Hi,
I'm using a WH1080. Since this morning the Rainmeter is totally through the roof. It shoows 10925mm.
I checked the sensor outside all finde.
If I start old Cumulus all is fine. I don't get the problem.
Has anybody elso had this problem and if yes how did you solve this problem?
greetings andy
Edit:
I managed to correct the value via raintodayeditor but In records it still shows the wrong value. If I close and edit the files manually and then restart CumulusMX the old value appears again. Am I doing it wrong?

If you zip up the mxdiags folder and attach it, I'll see if I can work out what's going on.

Re: Rain is totally wrong
It appears that the rain counter got reset for some reason. You corrected it here:
2017-04-05 11:29:14.527 Before rain today edit, raintoday=10925,0 Raindaystart=34,0
2017-04-05 11:29:14.527 After rain today edit, raintoday=0,0 Raindaystart=10959,0
You then started doing incorrect changes to the rain today figure, which caused a number of records to be set:
2017-04-05 11:41:14.903 Before rain today edit, raintoday=10925,6 Raindaystart=34,0
2017-04-05 11:41:14.903 After rain today edit, raintoday=-10925,6 Raindaystart=21885,2
2017-04-05 11:41:15.612 ****Rain reset? First chance: raindaystart = 21885,2, Raincounter = 10959,6
2017-04-05 11:41:15.612 Leaving counter at 10959,6
2017-04-05 11:41:21.942 Before rain today edit, raintoday=-10925,6 Raindaystart=21885,2
2017-04-05 11:41:21.942 After rain today edit, raintoday=10925,6 Raindaystart=34,0
2017-04-05 11:41:30.840 Before rain today edit, raintoday=10925,6 Raindaystart=34,0

At this point, you stopped Cumulus, with the correct figures applied:
2017-04-05 11:44:00.862 Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 05.04.2017 11:44:00 raindaystart = 10959,6 rain counter = 10959,6
When it started again, you had apparently manually edited the rain counter so that it was wrong again, because when you started Cumulus again it had to recalculate the rain counter, so it was effectively reset. I'm not sure why you apparently edited the today, ini file, but did you use 'full stops' for decimals?
You then corrected the counter again, but your station has now stopped responding:
2017-04-05 15:40:00.602 *** Data input appears to have stopped
It was still not responding when you closed Cumulus at 0714 this morning, so any rain totals are inevitably going to be wrong currently, until you get your station working again.

Re: Rain is totally wrong
Hi steve,
i used normal "Points" as decimals.
This night it was the same strange thing again. at ca 20:30 the rain measurement goes nuts. What could be the Problem?
I attachted the actual logfile.

Re: Rain is totally wrong
Your station was sending large increases in the rain counter. Cumulus tries to cope, but it's not possible to do anything sensible.

Re: Rain is totally wrong
Sorry for bothering you,
do I get you right that the problem comes from the station or the sensor?
Actual we have a a roadworks at our location, could it be possible that something is radio in the frequency? like traffic light or something?
Is there a way to ignore such large discrepancy?
Thank you very much for your time.
Greetings Andy

Re: Rain is totally wrong
Could well be radio interference. Cumulus already ignores large increases, there are limits to what it can do when the supplied data is so bad.
