Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

MYSQL Setup

Post by vpokroglo »

Could anyone please write step by step tutorial to setup mysql settings in CumulusMX.

I spend hours to set up, but always get parsererror when clicking on either button - Create monthly, Create dayfile...
What does Port settings (default 3306) mean?

If I do importing with ImportCumulusFile.php script it is working OK.

Any suggestion? Thanks.

There's only one step, fill in the details correctly that correspond to your MySQL server host, account and database. If you've done it correctly, then perhaps your server does not allow connections from other hosts.

At my webhosting provider.

I am already querying for static IP address. That will solve my problem.

Yes I have already asked them... see some posts upper (Voilaa....).
They do not allow connections from dynamic IP to Mysql.
I have dynamic IP. So i must get static IP first and then I could use CumulusMX built in Mysql settings.

Does Cpanel not have a 'Remote MySQL' option? I'm on a dynamic IP address, and I was having to continually add my IP address to allow a connection to it. I have now entered my DynDNS, which points to my IP address, and will update at the router level if my IP address changes.
