I'm hoping to make this build the 1.8.8 release version very soon, assuming no major problems appear.

Fixes a bug in the Fine Offset dew point calculation when the humidity goes below the station's lower limit.

- Allow custom forecast strings (for forecasts generated by Cumulus)

Instructions for use:

In the folder where you installed Cumulus, you will find a file called 'samplestrings.ini'. Take a copy of this, leave it in the Cumulus installation folder, and name it 'strings.ini'. The file contains the strings used for the forecasts, e.g.:

forecast23=Precipitation at frequent intervals

Edit the string as desired, e.g.:

forecast23=Raining again!

or even:

forecast23=Il pleut!

I might be persuaded to extend this facility to allow other aspects of Cumulus to be customised/translated

- Truncate custom tweets at 140 characters
- Allow thickness of chart legend symbols to be configured (see Display settings)
- Added 'max wind speed' option for La Crosse (via cumulus.ini setting)
- Select-A-Graph now has gust as well as peak gust

To use the cumulus.ini setting for the La Crosse max wind speed add to the [station] section

LCMaxWind=X

where X is the maximum (uncalibrated) wind speed you want to allow. The value you supply should be in metres/second, regardless of what wind unit you are using in Cumulus.

The Beaufort descriptions are also configurable now via strings.ini, I think that's probably new in this build (874) too...

I thought I would add one more set of strings to strings.ini before I make the beta into the main release version. The pressure/temperature trend strings are now configurable (see samplestrings.ini).

There was an error with missing spaces in the default values of some of the trend strings in build 875. I've fixed this and uploaded a new version, but it came out with the same build number. So, if you downloaded build 875 before about 20:00 UTC, you may want to grab it again.
