Issues with old kernel having a security issue

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Issues with old kernel having a security issue

Post by richard_newberry »

I understand Steve is retired now but can you give the code out or update it so it works with the more updated mono and kernel please only works with kernel 4.9.65 and debian released a security fix and when i update it stops CumulusMX.

This is really frustrating and others to also.

I completely understand Steve is retired now. But what do you recommend?

Please see http://www.debian.org for info on kernel security fixes.

You are becoming extremely tiresome. My mother died recently, I am in the process of emigrating to France, I am living in a motorhome, and I have been travelling hundreds of miles between the U.K. and other countries in the last few months. Do you actually read the announcements I post, or do you just not care? Your complaints leave me cold.

Just STFU and go and use some other software.

I recommend either using another OS ie Windows, a different Weather Station software - Meteobridge, Weewx etc, or a different Weather Station - one that works with CumulusMX and newer versions of Mono.

The choice is yours.
