Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
OK, I remember now, the data files are redirected to the /run folder which is a temporary in-memory folder.
Anyone got any ideas? I seem to recall the file had to exist in /run for the shortcut to work? But I don't recall how they were created, or maybe I just remembered that wrong.

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
I wish I knew! Is there a sym link for the realtime.txt file in the web folder in the 32 bit image? Or is trying to create the file directly in the folder?

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
@freddie, the sym links are to reduce SD card wear. Those data files are only used whilst MX is running and are recreated frequently, so it makes sense to redirect them to an in-memory disk.

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
Raspberry Pi3 B with
X64 bit cumulus image version i have no error after i have enable realtime.txt but i cannot enable the wifi … with raspi-config tool says no wireless lan detected…. I tried a lot things no luck
X32 bit cumulus image version i have wifi but error creating realtime.txt as i said before…
Both version work with Davis VP2 i have communication.
Now i think i will go manual to install cumulusMX…
Can you tell me where the realtime.txt file should be located?
I want to be accessed as http://myhost:8998/realtime.txt
What i have to do?
Thank you a lot guys!

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
I have successfully install manually CumulusMX in a Raspberry Pi Zero W now. I have no error reported in the logs.
I have only enable the realtime interval and the creation of the realtime.txt file.
Can you please tell me where is the location of this file?
Second step is to have access to this file from http://myhost:8998/realtime.txt to use it with the Cumulus iOS App. How can i do that?
Thanks!

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
In my knowledge there is not any easy ”out-of-the-box-ready” way to access realtime.txt locally on your Raspberry via the CumulusMX Dashboard that is running on port 8998. Normally you are expected to upload it to your public website.
If I’m right, and you want to host the file only locally, then you need to install Apache or Nginx to run on a different port and configure CMX to do a local copy of the file to the webroot.

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
If you just want to access it locally, then you could create the file as you are now. Then set up Extra Web Files to copy it to the /interface folder.
(Below is untested and from memory, I'm on my phone at the moment)
Local file name = web/realtime.txt
Remote file name = interface/realtime.txt
Real-time option ticked, the rest clear
Then you should be able to access it using the URL you have above.
But no access from the internet obviously. You will need a web site for that.

Re: realtime.txt fails in raspberry Pi image
That works, except that the Local file name = is just realtime.txt as the default saving of realtime.txt is in CumulusMX(Below is untested and from memory, I'm on my phone at the moment)
Local file name = web/realtime.txt
Remote file name = interface/realtime.txt
Real-time option ticked, the rest clear
Enjoy,
Paul
