I’m also on the south coast, 27.8 and still raining very hard. Personally, I’ve never seen anything like this before, our garden is awash and I’m very grateful that I neither have to go out, or live anywhere likely to flood. It must be horrific.

Gents, this topic is for all-time records. Can you post discussion of weather elsewhere please.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

What’s that meant to mean? I ask politely for you to post elsewhere and you come back with that. :groan:

Well, you've made plenty of posts in this thread that didn't revolve around an all-time record.

Lighten up.

January 2024 was a mix of relative mild with a period of cold days, and VP2/CMX recorded:
All time low Pressure 975.7 Jan 9, 2024
Highest January monthly rain 111.6 mm, and High 24 hour rain 26.8 mm Jan 10, 2024

January monthly rain is not always comparable due to snow and freezing/thawing in the rain bucket (I don't use a heater) but the manual CoCoRaHS gauges (yes I use 2) which is an accurate measurement of precipitation shows 132.4 mm SWE in January 2024.

January 2024 had the most days of snow falling at 19 days, but in relative small amount, for a total of 53 cm new snow which compares to 49.4 cm average for January in the 13 years I have been measuring and recording snow. The highest new snow was 12 cm January 21st. http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/snowindex.html

Enjoy,
Paul

Rain event today, broke some records.
All Time Records Today since 2019 :
Rainfall
Highest Rain Rate 281.0 mm/hr on 21 February 2024
Highest 24 Hour Rainfall 123.2 mm on 21 February 2024
Highest Daily Rainfall 108.2 mm on 21 February 2024

Bulk of the Rain fell over about a 6 hour period.

p.s. was a good test for the recently updated Davis Pro2 Single Spoon Tipping Bucket Rain Collector Assembly (0.2 mm) Metric.
Cross checked against a close Manual Rain Gauge and within 0.2 mm Davis Up.
Kindest Regards,
Tony Beaumaris, Tasmania (AUS)

That's some rain! And good to see some positive data on the spoon tipper. I have switched to one and found the out-of-the-box calibration was very poor. But since tweaking it I've been happy with it.

Please tell us the tweaking process that you followed.

Just doing a drip calibration. Because the spoon adjuster is non-linear (it uses magnetic attraction), it is bit more iterative than with the see-saw tipper, but it's the same process. Mine arrived reading approximately 30% high! - viewtopic.php?p=176923#p176923
