Web Upload indicator

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Web Upload indicator

Post by caribike »

The red flashing Web Upload indicator will not turn off. I've uploaded the webpage info several times but it comes back again in a few hours or so.

Hi,
You can change or turn off the alarm warning in the local Dashboard - Settings > Alarms > Web upload errors.
Depending on your settings the alarm will trigger again if there is a new alarm warning in the event that your interval upload has an error or fails.
Is there any alarm message in the local Dashboard - Utils > Latest errors?

Enjoy,
Paul

Does this topic relate to Cumulus 1 or CumulusMX? I read it as a Cumulus 1 thing, hence placing it in this subforum. Happy to be shown the error of my ways and move the topic, though :)

You may be right freddie as I hadn't paid attention to the board topic, just assumed as "Web Upload' is the exact language in CMX, and in CU1 the red flashing light relates to one of the 'Status" indicators and for web files refresh it is "Web Update". I did wonder which MX version though as it was the users first post, but now see joined in 2014 so could be very stable CU1 ;)

If it is for CU1 then I don't think there is a way to turn it off, you can "Clear" the messages but will return when there is a failure to FTP.

Enjoy,
Paul

Sorry I didn't make it clear - CumulusMX. I used the original Cumulus for many years then I upgraded to CMX on a RaspberryPi about three years ago. Still learning though!

Seems to be something to do with the Davis LOOP2 which is ticked in the settings:

2024-03-27 21:05:57 - LOOP: 35 - Timed out waiting for LOOP data
2024-03-27 21:05:56 - LOOP: 35 - Expected data not received, expected 99 bytes, got 0

I'm flummoxed at present

Mark may be able to provide more information, but those are not fatal errors. Mark's addition of the 'Latest error' utility has made these much more visible. I do get those periodically as well in my CMX with IP logger. They do not occur in my CMX installations with Davis WLL.

Enjoy,
Paul

Also LOOP2 is to do with acquisition of data from the weather station, not web uploads.

SUCCESS I now have had a steady green indicator and no errors for 5 hours now.

The prolem was LOOP2 - I disabled it in the Station VP/VP2/Vue settings. My set up may be a little unusual. I have a RS232 type 4-core cable connected to the connector inside the Vantage Vue Console feeding directly to the USB input of the Raspberry Pi. It seems the LOOP2 feature is not needed for this setup.

Thank you Gentlemen for your help.
