CumulusMX v4 updating

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

You have copied the runtimes directory into the CumulusMX directory as these errors look suspiciously like an error I got when I didn't realise the runtimes directory is an essential part of the new CumulusMX 4.

The file "Microsoft.Extensions.Logging.Abstractions.dll" should be in the root folder along with the CumulusMX.exe and CumulusMX.dll.

It sounds like you have not extracted the entire contents of the zip file.

I rolled back to 3283a. I'm going to wait on CMX 4.

I could have written that myself (even including the results of "dotnet-info" that you quote)! I'm in the exact same position that you are and don't know where to go from here.

Hello.
I followed the installation instructions for version v4 by garyghj.
I even added the UniqueId.text file.
Creating the 'data' folder poses no problem.
The startup takes place but after 20 - 25 minutes CumulusMx no longer sends data and it remains blocked.
I tried in both versions 4022-4023.
I had to go back to version v3 which fortunately continues to work normally.
Sincerely

Hello.
Cordialement

I've got the latest release to finally run on my Libre computer with a Raspberry Pi OS. Still working to run as an automated service

when running, this is the dialog in SSH:
cumulus@Cumulus-Libre:~ $ dotnet /opt/CumulusMX/CumulusMX.dll
Cumulus MX v.4.0.1 build 4023
Working Dir: /opt/CumulusMX/

Cumulus running at: http://localhost:8998/
http://127.0.1.1:8998/
http://192.168.86.41:8998/

Open the admin interface by entering one of the above URLs into a web browser.

Opening station type 15 - HTTP Ambient

Hi Mark
Thank you for your quick response.
I viewed the MXdiags log file and I noticed that realtime no longer worked.
The FTP password had disappeared during the update.
Once inserted, version 4 works wonderfully.
Another 1000 thanks again for your dedication.
Kind regards

Jean-Claude

Bonjour Mark
Cordialement

Jean-Claude

Re: CumulusMX v4 updating

Thanks, the problem is cause by the Weather Underground upload interval being set to zero minutes

If you change the Interval=0 to say Interval=5 in your Cumulus.ini file that should fix it.

Code: Select all

[Wunderground]
ID=
Password=
Enabled=0
RapidFire=0
Interval=0
I'll prevent this happening in future releases.

I just checked and the Third-Party uploads screen is already configured to prevent a value of zero being entered. Did you edit the Cumulus.ini file yourself?
