Yes, you may as well, it's obsolete now.

Steve,

Talking of obsolete there are a lot of message threads in the C2 forum that refer to the old C2 and could be confusing. Perhaps those could be removed?

You'll need to restart Cumulus 1 from the backup created when you started it up, to correct your data.

Ran into the same problem and corrupted the data in C1. Tried reinstalling from a backup before the problem occurred, but the errors kept on reappearing.
:bash: Bugger. :bash:

Ended up having to delete a few lines from the Aug data, fix up the alltime records, etc.

Ah well, you live and learn.

On a more positive note, I managed to get the C2 Service running and the viewer working, on the PC with the FineOffset attached and also on another computer on my home network. :P

I was going to mention it in the instructions, but it's one of those things that seems so obvious to me - only one program at a time, whether it's Cumulus or any other software. And it's been mentioned so many times on the forum with respect to Easyweather and Cumulus - but I suppose I can't expect everyone to have read all of the posts on the forum.

That sounds like a different problem, then. If you've stopped the C2 service, and copied a backup from the C1 backups into the data folder which was taken from before you ran C2 and C1 at the same time, it is impossible for C2 to affect the C1 data.

When you say "reinstalling", you don't really mean that, do you?

No, wrong choice of words. I mean copying the data from a backup over to the top of the data in the C1 data directory.

Hi Steve,

I wanted to try the C2 program after reading I may not have the previous comms problem I experienced between vp2 + vvp + c1, but I also wanted to continue to run C1 for web uploads.

Just letting you to know that the install ran smoothly, the graphs load quickly, VVP is working and I am a happy chappy.

I look forward to watching the progress of c2, enjoy your beer (s), you deserve a few!

Peter

Thanks, Peter, it's good to know that it does seem to at least be working, despite the problems!

Hi from down under!

I have noticed I am about to have a daily high...in about 3 hours time. Its 12.30p.m and the today daily high is showing as at 4.00 p.m?

Possibly related is that timestamps in the data log are being recorded 12 hours behind realtime.

Incidentally, although I have 16 months data on file, the C2 data only seems to go back to 30/6? when I imported, i was asked to point to a cumulus ini. file. I seem to have several, two in the cumulas folder and 3 in the data folder.(today, yesterday, alltime ). Which should I choose?

Cheers,
Peter

There's a problem with the timestamps of the daily highs, see the other recent thread, but this does look like a different problem. But this code is all going to have to change anyway.

They're logged in UTC, I think the instructions do state this.

The one called cumulus.ini, there is only one with that name (the importer is actually set up with the correct file name by default). You probably have errors in your Cumulus 1 data files, see the import log on your desktop for details of the failures. If they are blank lines they may be hard to find, see my tip in another recent thread about using Select-A-Graph.

Hi Steve, I have been testing C2Alpha, running the program continuously for a few days now and have noticed that twice there has been " No Data Series" come up.

A stop/start of the service seems to rectify the problem, temporarily at least.

By the way I do love the " view/gauges screen" and seem to leave it on all the time actually.

Cheers,
Peter

Is this when the both the service and viewer have been running for some time - the graph changes from a normal graph to say that? Or just after you have started the service and/or viewer, and the graph doesn't display?

I think its when service and the viewer have been running together for a while. As I am not constantly in front of the P.c its just something I have noticed on my return a couple of times.

I tried to make it happen again overnight last night with the viewer turned off, but when I turned the viewer on this morning it was all O.K, so now I will leave the viewer on and go to work and see what happens tonight.

Further to any earlier comment I made regards my data only going back to 30/06/10, I have since replaced my data with the blank database supplied in the install package as my imported database was actually complete but out of chronological order, my missing '09 figures were appearing after 04/07/10 and as I didn't know how to correct them, and as it didn't really matter, I just started again.

I have not noticed any "data series faults" since though... hmmm.

Cheers and beers!
Peter
