WH1081 replacement cable

Post by simple80 »

Just wondering where I can get a replacement cable for the wind guage part of my WH1081 - a damn squirrel chewed through the existing one!

You just need a 4 wire RJ11 phone cable and soldering skills to replace it at the sensor end. Alternatively I guess you could cut the cable, wire a plug onto it and buy an extension cable (socket to plug). But you'd need to provide good protection for the connection from the weather. RJ11 connectors are designed for indoor use only. OTOH if the part from the sensor unit is long enough to reach the transmitter unit you would only need to trim up the cable and fit a new plug.

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.
