Not quite sure when it started, build 596 seemed OK, 600 definately NOT (currently 601)

Once a day, could it be when it's looking for a time signal ? (and usually failing with mine !)

Someone else is getting the same value once or twice a day, but I'm struggling to get some diagnostics out of them.

Is Cumulus running at the time this happens - i.e. is it downloaded from the logger or during normal running? If from the logger, please send me the contents of the Diags folder. If during normal running, please turn on the debug log and send me the debug.log file when it happens again.

Edit: I've just had a thought; I removed the check on the wind status byte in build 600 to allow for this unknown 0x08 value. I bet that's the cause of this, the station is probably indicating an error condition (contact lost?). I should probably just allow that value and discard everything else. ( I was following advice from the Open2300 forum).

Thanks,
Steve

Build 602 hopefully fixes this.

Even though everyone else had high winds, I didn't, at least NOT 114 mph :D

Thanks

Update:

Just to confirm, no further 114 wind readings.

It would seem you have discovered a La Crosse WS23** error code for when it is hunting for the time / date synch (and failing)

Hey - you are now a guru in an out of date piece of kit Image

Great, thanks. I think I'll let version 1.8.4 escape now as a full release.

I think not! These things are even more baffling to me than the Fine Offset ones.

I've had this issue for the past two nights, both at 03:23. Cumulus hasn't been running at the time. I'm running 1.8.9 build 910. Whilist it would be nice to reoslve it, it's no big issue - I'm guessing that my WS2350 has dropped the wireless connection temporarily :(

Please zip and attach the diags folder. It's a gust of exactly 114 mph that you're seeing?

Looking at that could it be that either 111 or 112mph is the maximum recording speed with the other bits used as error bits when bits 4,5 and 6 are on.

Here's your data from around that time:

05:23:00 Address: 0B4D Data: 62 1A 05 CE 99 89 01 00 00 40
04:23:00 Address: 0B3A Data: 1F 3C 4F CE 99 AA 01 E0 1F 20
03:23:00 Address: 0B27 Data: 21 3C EF CE 99 AA 01 E0 1F F0
02:23:00 Address: 0B14 Data: 34 22 65 CF 99 87 01 00 00 10

Your wind speed for 03:23 and 04:23 are both showing 1FE = 51.0 m/s. Apparently the max speed in the WS2300 spec is 49.9 m/s = 1F3. So I guess 1FE is an error indication (note that your outdoor humidity is 110 at this time, also presumably an error value). There's nothing about this in the Open2300 memory map.

So I guess I need to put in a check to ignore wind speed values over 49.9 m/s in the history data (there doesn't seem to be an additional error flag as there is with live data).

I have just had similar I think...

All time high wind gust 128MPH

All time high daily rain 10472mm

Easyweather seems to show the same wind gust (well 127.7mph), but not the rain fall.

Attached are what I think are the relevant files.

Machine is XP running version 1.8.9 build 890

This is a La Crosse WS23xx specific problem ;)
