I have included the Wind Bearing tag <#bearingTM> but wonder if the result is correct. From the graph I would guess the bearing to be approx. 230° but the tag is showing 180° . Not sure if it's an error or my understanding of the <#bearingTM> tag.

Ah, yes, I see the problem. That tag isn't as obvious as the help makes out ;) Consequently, whoever put that and <#bearingYM> into the wiki has had to guess, and has guessed wrong. I've corrected the wiki.

<#bearingTM> is the (instantaneous) wind bearing at the time of today's high gust, and <#bearingYM> is the same but for yesterday. They're just the contents of the third box down in the Recent Extremes panel in Cumulus.

Did that help?

Thanks Steve - Yes that makes sense. Should there also be a bearing name i.e 180 S? Mind you, I did think it was really quite good/clever to have a mean wind bearing - perhaps an enhancement request :)

There's an ER for predominant wind direction over various periods, which I think is the same as the mean (given that the mean takes speed into account).
