GREAT NEWS, but a few questions.

Post by geoffp »

This being my first post I would firstly like to say thank you for all the hard work in getting "Cumulus" to work with the Oregon WMR200, I have waited a long time for this to happen but the wait was well worth it.

I have now ditched my "Weather Display" in preference to "Cumulus", since setting up the program yesterday I can tell you I have not had any problems with the program running.

I have just a couple of questions you may be able to answer:-

1, Is it possible to adjust the monthly rain total, starting the program yesterday I have not got the full months rain total.

2, Whilst using Weather Display I used an extra sensor "In a jar" to give me a solar reading I guess this is not possible with Cumulus, I see on the display that there is a position for "Solar W/m2" I guess this is for people using Davis weather stations, My UV readings display no problem there.

Again thanks for the developement.
Regards,

Geoff

The current month's total is calculated from the daily totals in dayfile.txt, so you would have to create a dummy entry in there with the extra rain. But it's nearly July now anyway, so you could perhaps just start from then?

I'm hoping to add support for extra sensors shortly. I've heard of this 'temperature sensor in a jar' approach, but I don't know the mechanism. If there's some simple mapping of temperature to W/m2, then I could look at adding that as an option.

Thanks for your swift reply Steve,

Regarding the rain question, yes no problem, will take it from 1st July.

Solar, not sure about the software involved there, but Bran Hamilton also had a calculation that would give you solar readings based on your UV reading as well, no problem, I am confident you will come up with something one day.

Geoff :D

Thanks Jason, everything is fine, I am now going to try to get "Cumulus" to try to talk to my website, so my viewers will have to wait for a while.

Try my forum www.harwich-forum.co.uk nothing to do with weater mind.

Like I said to Steve I am glad that he has got the program set up for the "WMR200" it was well worth the wait, I think its a great program, I have now ditched Weather Display

Simple, useful things like this that don't take a lot of my time, I am happy to add to Cumulus; all I need is for someone to supply a formula.

Steve, this is the table that I now work out my W/m2 from my "Sensor in a jar" now that I have ditched Weather Display
I downloaded the "exe" version.

The formulas may help in any future solar you may do
