Hi all:

My question is not what date should I put the "longest dry and wet period" in year.ini, in month.ini and in alltime.ini, specifically need to know if I put the date of the moment of the event or actual date. It is a problem of understanding when I thought of translating English into Spanish.

Thanks.

You should use the built-in record editor in Cumulus, it will extract the records from the dayfile for you and add them to the ini files. Simple.

Mr. Macrossley:

I think you don´t understand me, is not a data problem, the problem is that must represent data web templates of the month, year and record.

Example, I have 127 days of drought, this amounts to no rain since the 30th of April, then I want to know if "longestdryperiod" annual, monthly, and the record, I put the date of April 30 or there is the date of today and that the program is updated every day.

OK, the date you put in is the last day of the record period. Is that what you mean?

On the Web "thisyear.htm" appears:

Longest Dry Period 127 days to 01/09

So it is right or should appear:

Longest Dry Period 127 days to 30/04

Knowing that today is day 02/09

01/09 is correct. The LongestDryPeriod excludes today if it is still dry, so yesterdays date is what should be displayed.

To keep Cumulus updating the values, I think you also need to edit today.ini (with Cumulus closed), and make ConsecutiveDryDays=127

I come back some doubts:

In the "Highs and Lows Montly web" appears today:

Longest Dry Period 130 days to 04/09
Longest Wet Period 0 days to 01/09

In the "Yearly highs and lows web" appears:

Longest Dry Period 130 days to 04/09
Longest Wet Period 0 days to 01/01

In the "Record highs and lows web" appears:

Longest Dry Period 130 days to 04/09/2011
Longest Wet Period 0 days to 31/08/2011

I think there are some dates, especially the sections "Longest wet days".

1º) -It's in the "Montly" appear 130 days and should not appear alone the days of drought from the 1st day of September?

2º) -In the "yearly" appears:
Wet Longest Period 0 days to 01/01

but then the "record" appears
Wet Longest Period 0 days to 31/08/2011

is that correct?

Thanks and hope your answer.

1) It is correct, these records are for the period "ending" this month or year, not "during" this month year.

2) As you have not yet had any wet days Cumulus cannot put a valid date on these records. I'd suggest you use the record editor in Cumulus to set the date on these records to say 01/01/1901 to make it clear that they are meaningless?

Maybe Steve can contribute a better answer to 2) if he sees this.

My last days of rain were in April and were the following days:

Day 17: 1.0 mm.
Day 18: 1.8 mm.

Day 28: 4.4 mm.
Day 29: 0.8 mm.

This day 29 was the last day it rained so far, now knowing this that I put in:

All time.ini, month.ini, year.ini
LongestDryPeriod
LongestWetPeriod

Thanks.

And you have entries in dayfile.txt with rain recorded for those days? Did you run the record editors to extract the initial records from dayfile.txt?

- Yes, I have entries in the 4 days since the dayly.txt.

- And from the cumulus have opened one by one from the tab "Edit" cumulus, "all time records", Month and year records, and then I went back to close with "OK".

-Then I opened my editors, but this time they did the "Fetch daylyfile data" and followed the "fetch log data".

This is what you said?

2º) -In the "yearly web" appears:
Wet Longest Period 0 days to 01/01

but then the "record web" appears
Wet Longest Period 0 days to 31/08/2011

That would have no effect unless you actually change something.

And did that fetch the correct values? And did you click 'copy' to actually use the values?

All times records editor:

Longest dry period 130 days 04/09/2011 Dayfile value: 51
Longest wet period 0 days 31/08/2011 Dayfile value:14

Month records editor:

Longest dry period 130 days 04/09/2011 Dayfile value: 51
Longest wet period 0 days 01/09/2011 Dayfile value:---

Year records editor:

Longest dry period 130 days 04/09/2011 Dayfile value: 51
Longest wet period 0 days 01/01/2011 Dayfile value:14

Viewing these data that I do in each of the editors?
