As we are currently having an Indian summer here, was wondering what max temps you have reached, and where you are.
At 13:56 it hit 28.1 here in Folkestone. I suspect it may get higher than that before the end of the weekend

Yesterday's max was 25.9C at 14:35 but today's was 27.7C at 15:18. Good enough at the start of September to create headlines but very rare indeed for the last few days of the month.

My previous Sept max was 23.7C back on 8 Sept 2009 so it's been well and truly smashed. I'm expecting my October high of 19.8C on 10 Oct 2010 to be broken too. :D

Amazing there is only 0.1C difference! :o Shows our sensors are setup pretty darn well. :D

For anyone not familiar with Cheshire Mark's and my station are around 4 miles apart.

Considering they are different weather stations too, that's pretty good

It's Mark's turn to be hotter today. 28.3 versus my 28.2. :D

With an Atlantic front nudging ever closer I'm wondering if this will be the last hot day. It's certainly been memorable.

Considering the difference in latitude the temps here are remarkable for this time of year. We're at 50-53N, sth Georgia is 32. ;)

Try adding 20F to your averages and that will give you some idea how exceptional the heat is.

0.4C cooler here today and the wind has shifted to the W. :( I suspect the temps have peaked today and over the next few days things will return to normality all too quickly. Maybe 24 hours later down south.

In a week's time when we have the heating on this will be just a distant, but very nice, memory.
