Is just me, or has the forum been much slower for the last couple of days?

There have been some problems at Dreamhost; no doubt they will get things back to normal soon.

Hopefully this is now fixed. I reported the problem to Dreamhost, who told me that the forum process was being killed because of excessive usage. I found this hard to believe, but checking the access logs revealed one IP address repeatedly accessing the domain. The IP address doesn't appear to belong to anyone registered on the forum. I've blocked the IP address and things seem to be running much better; perhaps not quite back to normal, but certainly better than so far this weekend.

Over the past weeks, I have had continuous attempts on my home/office (internal) server (almost once a second) from different IP addresses. After checking the location where those IP addresses are located (or originate) and then I blocked the complete range of those IP addresses...

It seems this type of 'hacking' has been increasing at an incredible rate over the past months as those responsible for these continuous attempts are now openly sharing their results (or lacks of results) (on numerous blogs) as well as the techniques used to break into a system/network/company/etc...
