I just recently purchased a Loftek Nexus 543. I just got a website up and running but still under construction. For thoughs that have a website and have there web cam on there. How do you have it broadcasting to it? Is there a software program you use or what? Any info is greatly appreciated. I have my weather info being sent to my site via Cumulus.

David

I upload to Weather Underground http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IONTARIO226
and also webcam links on http://www.komokaweather.com

Enjoy,
Paul

Yawcam or Fwink, Yawcam is better controlled, but Fwink doesn't have as many problems

Hi all,

I'm a bit of a newbie to the whole weather station thing, but have just sucessfully got my weather data uploading to my site http://www.shanescofield.net

I'm now keen to get a webcam happenning, but have some initial questions.

Within USB cable length of my computer, I don't have a decent view of the sky line.
I would have to get to the whole other side of my house.
I was wondering if anyone is using a WiFi connected webcam for this purpose?

Any hints, tips or pitfalls?

Any input appreciated.

Cheers from Worongary Qld.

Hi Scoee . I've got the same problem and I think I'll go with an IP camera.

The cheapest option would be a ca5 usb extender, amazon at about £6.50, that way you can use a simple usb webcam and extend the cable using the extender over standard cat 5 network cable.

I will let you know the results when mine arrives :)

If the camera has to be installed at certain distance from the computer and you (or more precisely, your spouse) do not want to have a cable running the full length of the house, may I suggest a wireless network camera.

For the past five years, I have been using a Panasonic BL-C30 wireless network camera (now discontinued), with built-in Web server functions. This little camera has been reliably providing images 24/7/365.

I downloaded the Yawcam and it will not find my cam. I am using a wireless cam and followed the directions and still nothing.
