Please zip up the diags folder and attach it (quietly).

Hello Steve,

I think i know the problem, is it possible in the cumulus configuration in the station file there is a box that says when rain season starts and i have it set to the month of March.

Could that be it ?

Hello Steve once again,

I changed it to January and reset cumulus and once cumulus opened last years total rainfall was not there anymore so the problem is solved.

Thanks Steve for your reply to the question.

Best regards Tony.

Hello iceberg

When I first set up Cumulus in November 2011, January was hightlighted so I assumed that would be used; I'm using build 1020. However the Jan 2012 log file for my 3081 hasn’t reset either. I have chosen January again on the two occasions I've opened Cumulus in the past week, still no luck. What do you mean by reset? Have I missed something? Has yours reset to 0.0mm at start of January 2012, or did you need to edit?

Regards

Colin

It uses January as the default start of rain year, so the annual rain total resets to zero on January 1st. Anyone who had set it to something other than January wouldn't get the total reset on the 1st Jan. Changing from some other month to January would then get the annual total reset.

It doesn't actually do a 'reset'; it just totals up the rain from the appropriate months. It's not clear to me whether you have a problem or not - what is your annual total showing, and what do you think it should be - the same as the January total, presumably?

If you explain exactly what the problem is and attach the zipped diags folder, I'll take a look.

Hi Steve

I have attached an image showing the 1st of Jan from the Jan 2012 log file as well as the diags zip. I may have misunderstood, but I believe the column highlighted should be showing 0 not 72.3, the figure of 72.3 is last year’s rain total.

Regards

Colin

That figure in the log file is just the station's total rainfall counter, it only goes to zero if you remove the batteries from the rain gauge. It's the only figure that the station supplies, and Cumulus works out all of the rain data from it. It's in the log file mainly for 'internal' use.

Cumulus shows the annual total on its front screen; that figure should have gone back to zero on 1st January.

Thank you

Colin
