Just below freezing here with light snow / sleet falling but with a brisk southerly wind making it feel extremely cold.

Despite it snowing since just after midday we still only have 4cm of snow here. As the temperature did not get above zero all day the snow hasn't melted and even the main roads are covered despite being salted.

Still snowing, and getting heavier if anything.

Our snow depth peaked around 7cm, it is now melting at a fairly constant rate through the rain gauge. I wonder what the equivalent rainfall will be? The standard conversion seems to be 10:1, with a range of 5:1 - 30:1 for wet through dry snow.

Currently registering 9.2mm...

All rain here, but i didn't expect anything less. I was quite pleased with the outcome of this event as i explained in previous posts. That cold air still hangs on in some Southern parts, so more below freezing temps to come this week. :)

Well done Mapantz. There was only around 1.5" of snow here so the front must have intensified as it moved east. All today's 'rain' on my site is snow melt.

After receeding at the weekend high pressure is building over the UK again. My all-time barometric pressure looks likely to be broken in the next 24 hours.

Record is 1043.35 and currently it's 1042.5.

Hit 1042.2 a little earlier....and it does look on the rise.

There's some ominous looking clouds outside, but don't look like they could contain snow

All-time high barometric pressure broken multiple times this evening. Peaked at 1043.99hPa 40 mins ago and could rise further overnight. There must be many Cumulus stations across central England and Wales with new records too.

Not long after my post earlier, my pressure started dropping...down to 1040.7 now

Looking at this site: http://www.awekas.at/en/baro.php?nid=10
it does seem to be higher from the midlands northwards

On there this stations seems to have the highest pressure in the UK at the mo, at 1046.6: http://www.awekas.at/en/instrument.php? ... &sel=#verl

My high pressure record was broken too, now stands at 1045.3 hPa beating my old record of 1043.3 hPa from Jan 2010.
