Hi Ron,

The prediction for rain is;

Code:
[b]Pseudo code:[/b]

If DewPoint is GreaterThan (Temperature -1.1) AndAlso DewPoint is LessThan (Temperature +1.1) AndAlso Humidity is GreaterThan or Equal to "90%"
'// Then the condition is met
(Show Rain Drop in Blue)

Else (if condition is not met)
'// Condition is not met
(Show Rain Drop faded in grey)

End if

There is probably a more scientifically accurate way of predicting rain, but these parameters seem to work for me when it could rain most of the time.
Obviously my code will never be 100% accurate, as with most things to do with weather you can never predict with a 100% accuracy ;)

I did notice this morning that your webpage was displaying the "Blue Rain Drop" So that alleviates my fear that there was a problem
with my code. *phew*

I know it's not 100 % predictable but 'no change of rain' if it's raining looks a little bit odd :D , thanks for explaining

Hi Ron,

I noticed that the beaker graphic which display's the levels of water in the beaker
does not look correct for the amount of rain you have had. So I have tweaked the
code to see if it display's it correctly.

Please could I ask if you could download the new debug version 02 below (which
is again just the *.exe file) and copy it over the original in your folder and run it.
So I can see if it display's the correct graphic against the "Rain Today" total.

I will take a look at your page http://apeldoorn.tk/weer/grabber/grabberindex.htm
once you have got the new version running to see if it has corrected it.

If you could let me know when you have the new debug version running then I can check.

Hi Mark well I'm back again and installed the latest debugversion, it seems there was serious rain this morning but I wasn't back yet from Turkey (it seems the don't know what rain is in the summer  )

I don't know waht the issue is with the rainmeter because there is not a scale on it.. for now I'm uploading the graphs again my PC was crashed a week ago but I had no change to restart it remotely..

Hi Ron,

LOL we recently had lots of rain over here, but the water companies have decided to
enforce a hosepipe ban, due to the depleted nature of our local water sources, even
though we have had large amounts of rain, we are not allowed to wash cars etc..

Thanks for testing the debug version 02. It does not look like it sorted out the problem,
so I have recoded the function a different way to see if hopefully this time it displays
the beaker level correctly.

At the moment your beaker shows the level near the top of the beaker, when it should
be roughly showing it half full, so somewhere along the lines of code it is not reading
the "rain today" value correctly. Or the way I am parsing the value in the code is incorrect.

Hopefully this new version below will sort it out, if not I will have to have another
look ;)

If you can let me know when you are running it that would be great, so I can see if it's working.

Thanks Ron,

I will keep my eye on it over the next couple of days and see if it works correctly.

Sorry it's been a while, but I have just gotten over a particularly bad
case of tonsillitis which knocked me back a bit and have only just
started to feel better now.

I have now finished testing the next release and have made it available below.

Download version 1.3.3 :

Attachment:
CRTDGv133.zip

New in this version:

1.3.3 - (03-07-12)

1. Simplified webpage uploading no need to rename template files, see
"SAVING AND FTP UPLOADING OF CHART IMAGES" section below.

2. Pressure at station recode to display correct graphical for Low & High

3. Rain Beaker code revised to display correct rain depth in beaker for
non-UK users.

4. Compass point text background made transparent to view correctly on
computers running low colour resolution.

5. Added grabber version text to Webpage, templates now at version 1.2

SAVING AND FTP UPLOADING OF CHART IMAGES:

You can now save charts and automatically get them uploaded to
a remote FTP site, by pressing the [Start Export Charts Button].

Before doing this please press the [Config] button to setup
your FTP credentials.

You will also need to create a folder on your FTP site called "grabber"
which is where the images and webpage will be uploaded to. You will
need to supply the url to this folder when Configuring your FTP Credentials.

Also you must have a folder called "charts" residing in the same local folder
as the "Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber.exe" program file. By default when you
unzip the *.ZIP file the "charts" folder will be created.

Within this "charts" folder there will be the Webpage Templates:

GrabberIndexT.htm (Landscape webpage)

GrabberIndexPortraitT.htm (Portrait webpage template)

Please note that the file "GrabberIndexT.htm" is the main file that will be
uploaded automatically by the program and when it gets saved into the remote
"grabber" folder it will be then be called: "grabberindex.htm"

To simplify the webpage uploading I have now got the program to automatically
upload "GrabberIndexPortraitT.htm" as well and it will also be saved to the
remote "grabber" folder and it will be called: "grabberindexportrait.htm"

Doing this now saves having to rename files to switch between Landscape
and Portrait webpages.

On the Extra Data folder you show the Solar Info but with a station that has no Solar capability, wouldn't it be better to not show Max Solar Radiation? I know it is part of the realtime.txt but perhaps if there is 0 sunny and solar radiation then max wouldn't apply.
I realise that this does help if someone has a solar station that is showing 0 though.
Or perhaps a setting somewhere for "Solar yes or no"?

Hi Terry,

I will have a look at your suggestion for the next build.

I am going to be quite busy over the next couple of months as me an my other half
are expecting our baby in September and have quite a bit to sort out.

But I will try and set some time aside to implement that feature for you.

Thanks for you feedback.

Mark

Hi Terry,

I managed to find some time over the past couple of days to implement
the Solar Sensor information toggle switch.

I'm just testing it at the moment, so should be able to upload here
very soon.

After testing for a few days I am now happy with the new
bits I've added to Grabber, so please find the new version
available for download below.

Download version 1.3.3 :

Attachment:
CRTDGv134.zip

New in this version:

1.3.4 - (12-07-12)

1.
Added 30 min error handler if FTP site is not accessible, if after this
time Grabber still cannot connect to the FTP site, a MessageBox will be
displayed.

2. Added check box on [Extra Data] screen to turn ON and OFF Solar Sensor
information. If you have a solar sensor on your station please tick
the check box, otherwise leave it unchecked. Your choice will be
automatically saved to the file "Solar_Sensor.txt and will be loaded
at each program start.

NOTE:
The file "Solar_Sensor.txt" must be present and reside in the
application folder.
