Anyone else noticed peoples tendancies to visit your website with the more extreme weather.

On my site, I've noticed if the weather is in one of the extemeties, Hot, Cold, Rain Snow, I get alot more visists than if the weather has been the same as the day before?

Was just wnodering if that was the same for everyone?

Not that my site gets alot of hits..

I can confirm when the weather is more 'extreme' I've more visitors, not thousands a day ;-)

My traffic has increased 4 fold over the last 24 hours....must be the current weather situation

Most of it is to my webcam page though, as that is listed on several sites

Webcam page:
Yesterday = 7
Today = 29

Home page:
Yesterday = 3
Today = 15

Not huge numbers, but definately increased....and assume it's due to the current extreme weather.

Will be interesting to see if this continues tomorow

Same here. The last few weeks traffic has been low, but now the weather has become a little more extreme, more visitors have looked at the site. I'm averaging around 80 (unique) visitors a week, which isn't too bad. Did average over 100 per week earlier in the year.

I find Twitter helps boost the number of visitors too.

Yesterday saw a fairly big jump in my visitors. 50 compared to a 30 day average of 23. New visitors were 22 compared to the 30 day average of 14.

I suspect today will be higher.

I think I need to get Newton Poppleford Weather advertised more in the village, my views are not very good at all, and I haven't noticed much more visitors during the horrendous events back in late November 2012 either! :shock:

Do you Tweet?

I have found that this helps if you want more views....keep the locals up to date on the weather

Last Sunday was not that out of the ordinary but for some reason I received 157 visitors with 37 visiting for the first time. That's my second highest of all time with the record of 164 in May 2012 when we had a warm spell.

And the trend continued through this week. 102 on Monday, 89 on Tuesday and 112 yesterday. The record might go tomorrow with the arival of the snow tomorrow.
