Re: SteelSeries Gauges - version 1.0
George, do you have a link to the gauges page so I can take a look?
Your main page http://www.wheelocknet.net/cumulus/gauges.html?gb is the old gauges and doesn't seem to be working correctly.
Edit: Also are you sure you updated the steelseries.min.js file and have forced your browser to bypass it's cache? The behaviour you describe could be due to an old version (where I had scrolling partially implemented, but not used).

Mark -
Thanks for the interest. I have set up two versions for your viewing enjoyment or horror - one with scroll and one without. As you will immediately see the only difference is the size of the scroll box - the shorter box causing autoscroll to kick in.
http://www.wheelocknet.net/canvas_g/gauges_ss_10.html - no scroll - sufficient box length for text
http://www.wheelocknet.net/canvas_g/gauges_ss_10a.html - autoscrol kicks in - insufficient box length.
There is still a lot of trash in my pages - I will clean it up by and by - and I am still working with static dada - and the navigation links are trash for now.

Hi George
The scrolling is working as expected. AutoScroll only scrolls the text if it is too long to fit in the box. So, it displays a scrolling forecast, then displays "Downloading..." which is static, then displays the forecast again, which starts scrolling again from the default position (20% of the width of box in from the left).

Yes - as expected until a language flag is clicked. The scrolling is working as expected.
With autoscroll "Off" - the language changes without a hitch.
With autoscroll "On" - things get messy. Sometimes the language changes and the display starts acting erratic and sometimes the language does not change anf the display acts erratic and sometimes it begins scrolin multiple languages.

The scrolling is working as expected.
After playing a bit - I discover that with autoscroll "On" the first language change works perfectly - but then if I click another language flag the system breaks down. Perhaps this is a "buffer" problem that my code is not implementing.

George, I think I see what is wrong, but fixing it will take a while - I start a 2 week holiday tonight
I'll have a think about how to tackle it whilst I'm away - it is a fundamental problem that also causes a memory leak each time you switch languages, so it needs fixing.

Re: SteelSeries Gauges - version 1.0
George, I have been playing with the different flags on your gauges page. Most languages seem to display properly, except those languages with accentuated characters. Have you tried deactivating the use of the digital fonts for the forecast (only) to see if that improve the display?

Not true - you still have the dual (multiple ?) language interference, but for us foreigners the accented characters now display properly

Re: SteelSeries Gauges - version 1.0
Well your right as usual, Beteljuice, but the serious problem still exists - the jitters, the mixed languages, and after the first language switch haphazard performance. A bit like too many pints at the pub!https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/posting.php ... =14&t=5478#Not true

Re: SteelSeries Gauges - version 1.0
How do I change the encoding in the language.js file so it will be possible to show the danish characters æ,ø og å in the gauges and the charts? here is my page: http://kvistgaardvejr.dk/gauges-ss/gauges-ss.htm look in the compass- and rain gauges.

Re: SteelSeries Gauges - version 1.0
Kenneth, it should do already. Be careful when editing the language.js file that you save it in the same format as the one supplied - UTF-8. I just put the characters you supplied into my copy of the script and they seem to display fine (sorry, I did not check which character should be used where!).
