Hi Guys.I would like to introduce my self as I am new on here,My name is John and I live in Eastbourne in the UK East Sussex.I am 71yrs old and have had lots of different types of weather stations over 20 yrs or so.I also keep KOI as a hobby. At the moment I have a WH1081 which to be honest has to be the worse one of the lot and will soon be getting rid of.The best one was the HP 1000 bought from Maplins ,great indoor display unit but the outside unit which is all one unit was rubbish and packed up in a storm one day.Having all the sensors up on the end of a pole was useless.I am thinking of buying a Oregon Scientific WMR89 next.
What do you think I would be better off buying,No touch screen rubbish thanks. JOHN

Hi John, and welcome to the forum.

I have no experience with any of the FO or OS and had a La Crosse for one week and returned it, so can't make any recommendation on any of these. Now if you want some comments on Davis :!: :?:

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi to you.I would love to purchase a Davis weather station ,but here in the UK they are very expensive. In the meantime I like to modify cheaper stations to make them more accurate as I am a retired electronics engineer.
It gives me hours of pleasure taking the sensors apart and calibrating them.John

Hello John,

Since you are an electronics engineer you might be interested in these:

Assemble

Better than Fine Offset based stations but cheaper than Davis.

Be aware that the WMR89 isn't compatible with Cumulus. That may not matter to you, but I thought it worth pointing out.
