I've added Aerisweather forecast capability to the CU_HWS template set. Unfortunately, Aerisweather only has English text for the forecast, so those needing non-English should stick to WU or DarkSky for the forecasts.
For a free Aerisweather API ID, Secret Key, you need to submit data to PWSweather.com, then associate your PWSweather.com userid
with Aerisweather.com at https://www.aerisweather.com/signup/pws/ to obtain your key/secret.
Minor changes include:
1) option to select CumulusMX as the weather software used (new .png included)
2) option to select Swiss (ch) as the country flag.

What is the best way to be alerted to future updates for these script other than by Twitter?
Thanks

Re: CU_HWS template update 2020-05 available
The best way is to have installed the CU_HWS using git clone, then 'Watch' the distribution on GitHub. You'll receive a notification for changes pushed to the master, then you can just 'git pull' to get the updates.
I've not been announcing the https://github.com/ktrue distribution changes via my @saratogawxPHP Twitter feed .. it just seems redundant to what's available from GitHub (when installed via 'git clone' v.s. no notifications if you just did a download).
Since the distribution is primarily for Cumulus/CumulusMX, I will continue to do a post about it here on the forum.

Re: CU_HWS template update 2020-05 available
Re upgrading my current instalation,
http://weather.inverellit.com/hws/
and
http://weather.inverellit.com/pws/
First I presume the 2nd is long obsolete, but it's still up as I know quite a few have it book marked....
Can both be upgraded just by dropping the content of the distribution over the existing?
One thing that stick out is that the distro contains settings.php.
Do I let it get overwritten or keep my existing version.
Thanks
Phils.

Re: CU_HWS template update 2020-05 available
All your customization is contained in settings1.php (created,if missing, by easyweathersetup.php). The CU_HWS distribution from github is designed so you can safely do a 'git pull' and get all the needed updates without clobbering your settings1.php or your JSON files.
Do run easyweathersetup.php and 'save' after you do a 'git pull' -- there are new settings fields (for Aerisweather) that need to be initialized.
The update should run fine over the http://weather.inverellit.com/hws/ (CU-HWS-2020-02 distribution)
The update should also run fine over the http://weather.inverellit.com/pws/ (CU-HWS-2019-02 distribution)

I assume it's Ok to keep my old Menu.php,
You will note that I've changed the Webcam section.

Re: CU_HWS template update 2020-05 available
Sure, the menu.php is yours for editing as you like. I don't think I'd set the distribution to keep your copy on a 'git pull', so make a copy to have on hand after a refresh.
Same goes for any of the scripts you might modify to avoid clobbering in future updates. Only the settings1.php is NOT updated by a 'git pull' so it's safe across refreshes.
