New Website-Finally!

Post by mayo.mick »

Well, after a good few years (original post from 2014... viewtopic.php?t=11808 )
, I've finally managed to get my weather website up and almost running!

https://swinfordweather.com

Now just to get the ftp settings correct and hopefully everything should work. I hope then to move cumulus off my laptop and onto a widows tv box that I have on order from amazon. It should upload then 24/7 (or so I hope....)

As I was expecting, I cant get the uploads to the website working. Cumulus is showing a constant HTTP upload error.

The diags are showing

2023-01-04 09:30:00.286 Alarm (HTTP Uploads): Triggered, value = 0
2023-01-04 09:30:00.695 Alarm (HTTP Uploads): Trigger cleared

I'm sure I have all the FTP settings correct, copied from filezilla (I have SSL on the domain wheather that makes a difference?

File path is
/webspace/httpdocs/swinfordweather.com to where the webfiles are uploaded.

The Http upload alarms are nothing to do with FTP uploads they are alarms for Weathersite uploads.

Would be helpful if you posted your entire MXDiags as excerpts do not always point in the right direction.

However looking at you FTP string for an Apache server the correct string for FTP should be /httpdocs/swinfordweather.com, lose the webspace bit.

Thanks David.

I've edited the file path and restarted Cumulus, but still no luck. I'll attach the diags below if that sheds any light on the problem?

I can see no sign of an FTP process starting in the Service Console log. It should say "Connecting real time FTP".

Silly question but you have ticked Enable FTP connections in Internet Settings > Web/FTP Site?

I have indeed, ome of the 1st things I checked (make sure its plugged in!!!)

I rechecked ftp settings, redid a new login password to make sure that was working.

I'll try restarting cumulus with ftp off and then on again.

I've gone through everything again. Switched on/off settings, stopped and restarted cumulus. Checked ftp settings.

The document root on the host shows this file path which I was using, but also tried it without the webspace as you suggested.

Thanks Simon.

I've unticked the solar and air as I dont have those sensors. When I do get an airlink and connect it to the WLL, all I need to do is tick that box?

Uploads are set at 30sec, is that correct? There are a few ftp connect errors, timing out. I have been having this issue with filezilla but its an ISP issue since Christmas.

Thanks also to Damian and Mark I think, for all your help.

my Realtime ftp is 10 seconds though this is entirely up to you. if it defaults to 30 then leave it at that.

Normal ftp interval for me is 5 minutes.

as to airlink, yes once CumulusMX has found the device then you just enable that for the graphing etc.
