I gave up with it a while back. As it was slow and non-https, it caused slow webpage loading times.
It's the same on your site Ray. Your index page takes ages to load.
Also, your counter doesn't even show up on your page because of the mixed http/https content. 99% of visitors won't see it either.
It's also the other way around.. if you visit the topsites, any banners submitted that point to a https address, won't show up on the page.
Not acceptable in this day & age.

Strange. When I click my banner my home page loads in 1-2 seconds on my iPad. How fast is your internet speed?Mapantz wrote: ↑Sat 02 Mar 2024 11:53 pm I gave up with it a while back. As it was slow and non-https, it caused slow webpage loading times.

Thats odd Mapantz, as Ray's site loads in a matter of seconds for me.
Update before you start yelling at me
Topsites will be off line again as the server changes it over to the new rack.
Good news is it will be https.
So fingers crossed all goes well as I am sure he has had enough of this one site that he makes no money from, in fact it costs him money.
Cheers now
Jenny
P.S. Thank you The Netherlands

Looking at it again, I seriously can't understand the ranking (displayed on the button on my site is 27!):
- when entering your site I am ranked 17;
- when I click rankings (left uppper menu) everything reshuffles and I am ranked 8 (refreshing my site gives 8 in the button)
- The in/out and pageview statistics are not clear (I have an idea for in and pageview but out is a riddle to me). Is there a help somewhere?

@HansR,
I’m the same. The default setting used to be Page Views but has now changed to either In or Out. Both those place me far lower in the table.
@JennyLeez, can the default please be set to Page Views?

Good Evening
I have been playing with the settings.
I think, only think, 'In' means coming from clicking on the button on your website.
'Out' I think means clicking on a banner on the top banner site, taking you to a website.
I have been playing in here testing and following up on what I have clicked on.
1st week I ran IN. This week I have been running OUT. Need a week to see how pans out.
One thing I did find is it reads my cache. So I am having to refresh to update whatever website I am on.
I am of 2 minds here. As a member pointed out to me. Your website page hits has nothing to do with the top banners site.
What is relevant is the hits from your visitors clicking on your button and visiting the top banner web site, hence voting for you. Also relevant is visitors clicking on the banners on the top web sites list, again voting for you.
With that said. I am waiting on our server who is creating a separate setup so we can run https as a few of you have requested.
Maybe once this is done things will settle down.
Feedback regarding 'In' 'Out' or 'Page Views' is definitely welcome
Cheers
Jenny

https is now up and running.

You can use either https or http. From what I can see either defaults to the https.

I have the https site running well, but one thing puzzles me, why does the Icon showing your ranking never match the actual ranking.
Point in case 22.46 on March 31st Icon star says I am ranked 26th, actual site shows me ranked 9th !!

I agree. On my home page it shows I’m 20th. But entering the site with OUT set I’m 30th. If I change it to IN I’m now 8th. Finally, changing to Page Views I’m now 5th.
Is some fancy formula being used?

Re: Cumulus Weather Topsite: how to solve Captcha
Hi Adrian
I also have been trying to register, but without success. My interpreation of the Captcha was that the spanish translation of **** = "four stars" was meant, but "cuatro estrellas" did not work ...
