Solar Input string was not in a correct format

Post by philpugh »

Hans,

I'm getting this error during the website generation. cumulusutils is complaining about the format of field 18 (SolarRad) in May23log.txt.

What appears to be happening is that I recently entered a calibration setting for the solar sensor in the Ecowitt WS68 by introducing a multiplier of 0.8. This leads to a calculated value having an occasional decimal point and I suspect this is what is causing the issue. However I don't see a setting in CumulusMX to allow the number of decimal points to be used - like you can with most of the other values (including UVI !).

Is there a way to get around this pls?

Phil

SORRY forgot to add using 6.18.2

Bug in MX, it is always supposed to be an integer value in the log.

Thanks Mark,

I'll remove the multiplier until fixed.

Another (intermediate) solution is to calibrate using the Ecowitt gateway.
And btw: why is there no moon on your site?

Good question Hans - I hadn't really noticed. I upgraded to 6.18.2 revently - I'll check the cumulusutils.ini setting!

The MoonImageLocation tag was blank - infact since the update to 6.18.2 all three stations have had this tag reset !?

I will keep an eye on it!

Good suggestion to use the Ecowitt Gateway sw to do the 'calibration'

If you use the CMX moon image you will have to set the new parameters UseCMXMoonImage and MoonImageLocation.
Definitely if you use PHP upload.

The tag was not reset, it was new ;) (because of an issue with PHP upload)

Oh!

I missed that in the notes - I don't use PHP upload as my webserver is on same RPi as my CMX stations.

@Phil: See notes for v6.18.1
Although the problem arose with PHP upload, I made the change generic so to avoid confusion with others.
Haha... that worked out well ;)
