I can't find much referring to this question although I know it was asked about the previous version.
I can use sc.exe to create the service but I wanted to check whether it was recommended or not.

I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work, as long as the user it runs under has the right permissions, but I haven't tried it myself. At some point I hope to look at building in the option to run it as a service.

Ok - I wondered whether the CTRL-C to stop did a graceful shutdown which stopping the service would not?

I'd assumed that the wrapper would send the correct signal to the application when the service was stopped. The best thing to do is just try it with a test installation, the diags file will show whether it was closed cleanly.

I am running Cumulus MX as a service and it works great.
You might also look at this app to create the service for you:
http://www.pirmasoft.de/cms/freeware/runassvc To uninstall the service you go to add/remove programs (appwiz.cpl). Make sure you run RunAsSvc.exe as admin/elevated or it doesn't create the service.
