INSTALLING CUMULUS IN THE CLOUD

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

INSTALLING CUMULUS IN THE CLOUD

Post by Polin79 »

Hi,
Is it possible to install Cumulus MX in the cloud, in order to have Cumulus MX reachable everywhere and not only in home network?

Thanks
Paolo

Yes it is possible, but probably undesirable unless you are very careful and know what you are doing regarding networking, security and restriction of access. You would also need to use a weather station that Cumulus connects to via TCP/IP.

It is much easier to run a website in the cloud and look at your data that way. If you require access to Cumulus configuration from more than one place then you can do this with a VPN - but again you need to be very careful to restrict access.

I understand that there could be security issues so it's better abandoning the idea. And is it possible to run a website page with the same layout of the Cumulus MX dashboard I like so much also with Cumulus Charts. Are there some instructions to do that?

Thanks

Thank you very much. Are there some instructions how to upload on a website and then update data with Cumulus MX?

Thanks
