(Moderator edit -- ran slight off topic from https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2313 so now on it's own topic)

Haha!! On another forum I've seem people who are right into watches call themselves "WIS" - Watch Idiot Savant, perhaps we're all "Weather Idiot Savants"!

currently I am restricting myself to a breitling B1 and an Omega Speedmaster pro plus a few budget watches and family pieces. The only other watch I would truly like is a nice diver preferably mechanical and auto :)

Wow very nice!! I have a fleet of 14, the pride of which is a 1953 Rolex (pre) Explorer, the exact model number that Hillary and Norgay wore to the summit of Everest that year. The rest are mostly Japanese. :)

before we get totally off topic, I wonder if its the type of person we are that likes to run realtime weather stations that also makes us the type to indulge other hobbies. I think I will move hobbies to general :)

I do not even own a watch let alone understand how someone could be into them enough to visit a forum

So is it you or me that is weird!

The answer to that will probably come from your significant other - the looks from my wife would suggest I'm weird... but lovely with it ;)

oops not very good with these quote things

Haha, well I can't speak for you, but I'm definitely weird (Damn I should have added that as another hobby ;) ) You'd be surprised that of all the forums I have frequented, which include Jeeps, 4wd, Brock Commodores, Land Yachting, the watch forum seems to be the one where there is the most agro.

My dad was a train spotter... I mean model railroad enthusiest ;) I still have all of his brass HO scale steam engines and rolling stock in boxes in my attic. I must admit I also still have my N scale trainset in my garage leaning up against the wall. I haven't used it in years though. I spent half a day getting it out and cleaning it up a few years back and it kept my sons attention for about 10 minutes.

There are forums all about handbags too. I don;t frequent them but when I was bought a significant one for a significant buirthday, I was told that a friend knew all about them and was that day meeting up with someone she had met on handbag forum. How the other half live! Sadly I only have one significant handbag, but have always fancied a Cartier watch.
Many thanks
Helen

Clocks fascinate me - particularly big ones :) I guess watches are similar - on a totally different scale. I'm referring to mechanical ones, not electronic.

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

You wouldn't want to make a typo in that sentence!

Although I've only got one, I particularly like cuckoo clocks. My wife insists I leave it on silent though... :(
