WMR 968 Weather Forecast

Post by kenkirkley »

The weather forecast on my webpage remains the same regardless of the weather. I am using the Oregon Scientific WMR 968. Anyone else with this station that has the same issue with the forecast?

Tnx!

Are you using the Cumulus forecast or the station forecast? What forecast is it stuck on?

Hey Steve:
To my knowledge the weather forecast is from the software. I didn't see anyway to tell it to get the forecast from the weather station. The forecast that it is hung on is..Forecast: Exceptional Weather, Stormy, much precipitation. The web address is webpages.charter.net/kenkirkley in case you want to see for yourself.

Tnx!

The 'Exceptional weather' bit is an indication that the forecast has gone 'off the scale'. What have you got for the pressure extremes (bottom right of the station settings screen) and what units selected for them?

The extremes are set to 950 and 1050. The units were set to inches. I change it to mb and the forecast changed to Fine. So, do I need to leave the settings to 950-1050 and mb or do I need to change it to different values and inches?

Tnx!
Ken

No - that's OK.

That mb or inHg decision is purely for the forecast units (before you were saying 950 => 1050 inches for your weather "range")

Oh dear, you're new to this aren't you

The forecast is a 'best guess' and for amusement only. IF present conditions (trends) persist then the forecast may be valid for 12 => 24hr in the future, but if there are rapid improvements or deterioation, it may only be an hour or two 'away'.
