Spring snow!
Would you believe it -- the increddible amount of snow we had starting around Christmas time has only just gone. There was constant snow fall that kept topping up the snow and very cold nights to freeze it solid. Finally, two weeks ago it was all gone.
Then the snow started falling again early yesterday, and in less than 36 hours this is the result. I had to use the tape measure to prove it. 25 inches!!! It's all very soft so hopefully it will melt quickly but they are suggesting -10C tonight so that will slow things down.
The poor spring lambs are now being born -- I feel sorry for them

Re: Spring snow!
Great picture! It's amazing that your PWS keeps working given the weather you've had - fingers crossed that things improve soon.

Re: Spring snow!
Wow! Quite a bit of snow there. Atleast this time of year with the sun being stronger you probably won't have to look at it to long.
Here in Massachusetts it was 70 degrees and sunny today! We've had our share of April 1 snowstorms though like the famous (atleast around here) April Fools day blizzard that dumped 25 inches of snow.

Re: Spring snow!
The forecast was quite wrong and we only made it as low as -3.4C overnight. Hopefully the snow will sart melting today as the sun is out

Yes, lovely Great shot Lovely to see a "real" squirrel, rather than the "tree rats" we get round here.

Here's a few of my own Squirrel pics from the garden two summers ago (last summer was a wash out) -- I was sitting in the garden and they appears and were running around. These were quite young ones

Re: Spring snow!
I'm sure it happened on other high points of the Pennines yesterday too but we had albeit very briefly ...... snow. Obviously didn't stick but it snowed nevertheless. Since I installed my weather station (just over a year now) I've noticed that for much of that time the prevailing winds have been from the north and east. Living not far as the crow flies from Manchester Airport it is more noticeable as you are aware of runway direction use.
