What is "Animation Factor" adjustment for the Wind Gauge in the new build 955?

Re: New Wind Gauge
Just a personal opinion: I preferred the "old" wind gauge: it matched the style of the rest of the display.
The new one is - to me at least - slightly too strange in appearance, compared to the overall looks of the display.

Re: New Wind Gauge
Yes, me too. New one looks odd. Unless the other gauges change style too. Same with the clock...not sure we need it either, especially if screen space gets tightdane wrote:Just a personal opinion: I preferred the "old" wind gauge: it matched the style of the rest of the display.

I would agree, I prefer the original display.... but we don't know what Steve has planned for the overall displaydane wrote:Just a personal opinion: I preferred the "old" wind gauge: it matched the style of the rest of the display.

Re: New Wind Gauge
The plan is that the rest of the display will change to be similar in appearance. I did post about this some time ago, saying that I was proposing to buy these components - I don't remember any complaints at the time, did I overlook them?

I must have missed that post, or have not understood the implications of it.steve wrote:The plan is that the rest of the display will change to be similar in appearance. I don't recall the post, but if they all get to look similar then ideal

Re: New Wind Gauge
I like the look of the new wind gauge. I assumed of that the others would come in line with it eventually. Steve also stated that the colours would be configurable later, so there shouldn't be any issues once we can fiddle with the appearance.

Re: New Wind Gauge
The new gauge gets my tick of approval. Looks good. Thanks Steve.

Re: New Wind Gauge
To be honest, I don't currently have a plan for the other two gauges, because there is no direct replacement as there is for them as there is with the wind speed. I am thinking that the direction gauge will just use the same type of gauge as the speed (as it does in Cumulus Realtime). I don't like the wind rose anyway, so I've been looking for a replacement for that (of the other type of wind rose, if you know what I mean).
But I do have the source code for the other two gauges, I wrote them myself (or adapted them from existing code) so it should be possible to change the look and feel of them. And bear in mind that the colour scheme of the new gauge will be configurable.

Re: New Wind Gauge
I changed the background to a green and that really helped the gauge stand out.

Re: New Wind Gauge
I've set my background and clock colour (spotted a bug - changing the main digit colour still also changes the clock digit colour), and 'themed' my compass to vaguely match. Does it still look odd/strange/whatever - i.e. is it just a question of colour?

Much better -- I had changed everything except the Compass as I did not think I could change thissteve wrote:I've set my background and clock colour (spotted a bug - changing the main digit colour still also changes the clock digit colour), and 'themed' my compass to vaguely match.
