Midnight rollover didn't take place - how do I fix it?

Post by hungerdunger »

I've just turned on my computer and opened Cumulus to find that yesterday's figures are all zeros, and all the rain we had yesterday is recorded under today. I've checked "dayfile.txt" and there is no entry for yesterday (11th).

As a newbie I've looked through recent posts to find an answer. I've found one other person mentioning this (https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=375), but the question wasn't resolved.

Can somebody tell me how I can correct this, and did I do something wrong for the error to occur in the first place?

What version are you using? What type of weather station do you have? What time did you close down Cumulus last night? Can you please attach the files from the Diags folder - you may need to zip them to get them to attach. Or email them to steve@sandaysoft.com.

It was the startup a few minutes after midnight where the problem occurred. The data from the logger didn't cause a rollover, so it should have done one straight away once it got into normal running. I'll have a look to see if I can see why that happens.

You should be able to recover by using the backup files from your startup just after midnight. With Cumulus stopped, copy them to your data folder and start Cumulus. The logger data should cause the rollover this time.
